Seems like no matter what type of bed I own it's noisy as shit. Switched to just frame and padded headboard, still bangs and makes lots of noise. Got rid of that and just got a really nice looking scandanavian designs wood frame that seemed really sturdy, nope, squeaky as all hell. Thinking it has to be a platform bed now, but I just know I will get one and it will be just as damn noisy.

Any ideas or just forgo the whole nice looking bed and go mattress right on floor college style?

Any wooden lattice frame bed will eventually start to squeak. Good ones may hold out longer.
Maybe a waterbed, do they still make waterbeds?

Good box spring + tall mattress + put it in the corner + line the 2 walls with pillows. Liberator black label furniture if you needed the bed frame for other reasons.

I haven't tried it, but I have heard that talc powder in the wooden joints will help reduce/eliminate squeaking.

If you are doing it right, you will also need to get a ball gag. :party

That's what the pillows are for. Hell, body pillow pillowcase on a regular pillow and it doubles as reins :party

At first, I thought that said ball boy. My, aren't you the adventurous one.

I found out years ago that an 85 lb partner didn't make too much noise as far as bed movement went. I also found out that a 250 lb partner along with my 250 lb self, would fucking break a bed.

Currently, I've got one of those real tall mattress/box spring combos, a real heavy duty frame/headboard setup made of solid wood, I made sure everything that bolts together underneath is real tight, and the headboard isn't against the wall. The mattress is one of those ones that you can drop a bowling ball on and not knock over the wine glass. It doesn't move much at all and doesn't make any noise. It's one of those $3000 ones..

We've destroyed a bed. When looking for a replacement, it was awkward explaining to the sales man what we were doing on the corner of the bed but we had to make sure the height was right and it was sturdy. He kept saying ... but don't you want to lie on it. :laughing

It might not be the bed itself - an area rug under the legs (of the bed, smartasses) might take care of the creaking you're hearing.

Hmmm. Ill try this.

I built a platform bed a couple years ago that was absolutely rock solid. You could have parked a car on it. Never, ever a squeak. Plenty of other noises, but no squeaking. :teeth
