Coming from you? :rofl But yes, the answer is yes.
Dan, your posts can be caustic. I waited to meet folks in person before dissing, dishing out, or calling people fat. I imagine you're a good guy and just want to make friends, but you're sabotaging your efforts with your posts. Food for thought.

Not quite sure what you're referring to, but you haven't met me and seem to be content with dishing it out. If there's something wrong with my posts, feel free to disagree with said posts, but why are you getting so worked up over the internet? :twofinger

Because you're treating this board like the Internet. Go to CL, PO, etc, and insult all you want. You'll never meet anyone in person there. Remember your post on fat squids?

From my personal experience with Barf, it's just a matter of time until you're invited to go to someone's home and meet his/her family. It's a very nice experience, and you will not want to be the guy that always writes crazy shit. Unless that's who you really are, but I doubt. I bet you're really nice in person. Your post yesterday wishing me good luck with the helmet was very nice. Keep like that and you'll make 100 awesome friends, like I did. Food for thought.

No, I don't remember my post on fat squids... my insulting posts are few and far between, but yes, they do exist, just like anyone else on BARF. I'm no saint, but I'm also not some asshole who posts random troll shit every day.

I've met many BARF members as it is and never has anyone called me out on what I've posted nor have I judged any of them based on their posts. I suppose your initial post rubbed me the wrong way; thanks for the advice, good intent but poor timing.

I'm going to change this to a definite out. Don't want to be that guy who posted the only argument in this thread :laughing

Enjoy everyone :thumbup

:cool :cool

Caging up with da books.

Let me chime in here. As someone who has been on BARF for quite a while and has spent more than his fair share of time posting nasty, mean BS, I can talk to this. What Marc says is absolutely true. I can't tell you how many times I have sat back at my desk giggling at what I thought was a totally benign and obviously humorous joke. Only to find out I was wrong on both levels.

I have shown up to more than a few BARF meets and introduced myself to the response of "Oh, you." while people walk away. It sucks. Humor doesn't always translate on the web. Sarcasm rarely does. And unfortunately for me (and you Diaonetic) we are sarcastic people.

I too have attempted to tone it down. In my case, it usually means I just don't post. Of course that does nothing to change the impression most people have of me.

In person, I am a great guy. But on BARF, I can be a real asshole.

I really really want to come to this :(

Attempting to figure out how much wiggle room I need to meet all obligations and have a sliver of joy at this event.

Dionetic-get your ass out there, meet people in person, and don't pay the internet arguments no never mind ;)

I should be there, nothing coming up to distract me from this, so far.

....... on BARF, I can be a real asshole.
Likely won't be getting many arguments on that statement Mike. :rofl

But seriously, if you showed up at a BARF social I wouldn't turn away in a "oh you" response; as you mentioned having experienced from some others in the past.

I'd shake your hand, say "it's all cool", and be glad to put a name with a face. Forum antics and real world (thankfully) can be very different places (as you mentioned). :thumbup

Yep, I'll definitely be there :teeth Feels goooood to be Stateside again.

on a Sunday :cry

do they have cheap sauvignon blanc there, that's the only rubbish I will drink :x

but on a Sunday ????

Oh, and if we show, I'll pre-empt my introducing myself to people I have already met ten times by just leaving this here

"Hi, I'm Wendy, what's your name"

:rofl

--edit--

crap, I just read it is from noon til 4 - I really should pay attention more

We'll see

Is it that easy to tell? :laughing

:thumbup - perhaps

Very true - was nice of you to show up on that Friday ride and your tire selling story was interesting

It's just the opposite for me.

Now enough bastardization of my goddamn beer party thread. Fuckers.
MY BAD.

Changing my no to a maybe, depending on how social I feel. Nice enough to get a cage offer and I want to see if rugbynerd's CBR 250 offer is legit or not :teeth

So we've established that we have a group of people that are assholes both in meat space and behind the keyboard, and Wendy apparently needs to be promised a glass of wine before she'll show (got that covered, lady, just find me), and this will be the gazillionth event I've attended with Bud where he hasn't been on a bike.

Alright, alright, I'll go! Ya really didn't have to twist my arm that hard ;)
