BARF Militia

So I figured I would give my fellow militia members a preview of my latest purchases. Can't wait to throw some lead down range with this combo.
Taurus TX22 Competition ready 22lr pistol and Holosun hs507c-x2.

I have a ton of 22lr to get rid of....... :teeth

Sweet!:thumbup

How do you think that compares to the Walthers and Rugers? It's a polymer .22, right?

I'm assuming we can't get it here :).

I think it will be a Cali no-no. although they do sell a 10rd mag version but I know other states also have that restriction.

I don't have the Ruger or Walther but from everything I have heard people really like the normal TX22 and say it is super reliable and is very accurate. The one I got is the upgraded version and is designed to work with a red dot sight. It is a more full size pistol so it should be good.

It also has a threaded barrel so that means suppressor fun for me.

Right now I am using a GSG 1911 22lr pistol and it is nice and works okay but wanted a striker fired analog and the S&W MP 22 was a compact frame and not red dot so I decided to go with the TX22 Competition. I also just found that they make +9 bumpers for it so it would be a 25 round mag....

Guys/Gals just read this on another forum and not sure if you are aware of this new proposed rule change by the ATF. Posting a link to a site with a pretty good explanation of the changes and it also has a link to make your voices heard to try and stop this gross overreach by the ATF. They basically want to make almost all parts of a firearm serialized which will require a FFL transfer for almost all firearm parts. I mean good lord here is a quick excerpt from the proposed ruling.

For purposes of this definition, the term “fire control component” means a component necessary for the firearm to initiate, complete, or continue the firing sequence, including any of the following: hammer, bolt, bolt carrier, breechblock, cylinder, trigger mechanism, firing pin, striker, or slide rails.

Help out and post a reply to the proposed rule changes so they know we don't want this to go into effect. Hopefully with enough public comments against it they will dump this in the circular file where it belongs.

Currently the only things that need a SN# are the lower receivers or the frame of a pistol although Sig got around this by serializing the trigger group of their pistols so that you could switch frames around and not need FFLs to do it. I also think that fully automatic sears for ARs that are legal have SN#s also. There are a limited number of these that can be owned by regular people and are tracked via NFA transfers.

This new proposed rule would make the triggers and most parts of it need to be serialized also the bolt carrier group and the firing pin. Now that I look at it closer it really seems designed to make building an AR an onerous proposition as some parts are just there for no reason and I am not sure what real benefit would be derived from putting a SN# on them other than putting an undue burden on people who own them legally and try to follow the rules.

I really think they are trying to kill online sales of these items and it really serves no purpose other than that. who cares what trigger you put in your AR lower because without the lower nothing works as a firearm and all you have is some worked metal pieces.

You mean another gun law that makes no sense and is aimed at the good guys only?

What else is new?

Shifted some of my collection to my house in Nevada.

Are those faux cans on some of them?

My buddy that moved from CA to PA is loving the free life. He shot me a text the other day, he walked into a gun store and was buying something for reloading and two lowers followed him out the door the same day. Took about 30 minutes total he was over the moon.

Maybe I'll get a pic up, but it's just a CZ. Last summer, I almost bought an Sp-01, but when I went back to the store it was gone. So, I stopped by the shop around the corner from my house yesterday, they had another in the used case. Once again, I slept on it, and went back today after work to find it still there. I also I went in to find that the S&W I had on consignment sold yesterday about 2 minutes before closing time, so I had a store credit. I a good customer there, so she dropped the price on the CD a few bucks, and made it an even trade.
I have a Jericho and a Witness 40, so obviously this feels right at home in my hand. I guess I'm going up to the range on Friday to test it out.

Long time no see. I haven't been riding so I've been shooting.

I gave Carry Optics division a go in USPSA with a couple Glock 17s and they were OK except I couldn't manage to reload them due to the ergonomics. So I traded a couple Glocks for a Canik Rival in April and it's a great gun. (Not on the CA roster, sucks to be you.) The Canik (sample of one) is a higher quality gun than any of the Glocks I've owned (sample of many). Plus the trigger is amazing.

I still travel to the Glock GSSF matches in CA and I won the Unlimited division for the first time ever with my CO-legal G17.3. I got a G48 for under T-shirt spring/summer carry and put a Holosun on my G19 for fall/winter carry.

I made a road trip to Idaho for a GSSF match and won a bunch, but it was not worth it financially. I made another road trip to Nampa to work and shoot the USPSA Area 1 championship, where my expensive 2011 magazines failed me. I should have shot my Canik.

I've been riding my Moto Guzzi out to some of the matches and setup days to save money on fuel.

Man, I really want to get back into USPSA. So much fun.

I can't wait until I can get back into it. I took time off for shoulder surgery and now that it is healed it has been non-stop work around the house so I haven't made time to go again. I have to break out the pistols and start practicing again otherwise I will finally get the coveted F class shooter rank.
