BARF Militia

Not sure if I want to put them on my vehicle though. Might give a cop a reason to ask if I'm transporting or something.

Or thieves/gangbangers an opportunity to follow you home and mark it for a later break-in date. I just had this talk with my cousin. I never have anything on my vehicles that might suggest I own guns, or wear anything gun-related for that matter.

Excellent point. Funny that that had never dawned on me.

Kind of interesting how the priority of my pessimism lies: the government, the "man", etc; then actual criminal activity.

Werd. I recently learned of a rookie Reno cop who was fired for not drawing down on a driver in a traffic stop when he learned the driver had a gun in the car. (Stupid driver volunteered he had a CCW and a gun in the glovebox.) This was after he learned there were no wants or warrants for him. His training officer wrote him up for not drawing down on the driver and he was fired.

Now people are telling me NV LEOs running your DL at a traffic stop will learn that you have a CCW and will ask whether you have a gun with you. Knowing the above, the correct response is to remain silent.

I was heavily into pistol and 3-gun competition for years. I had a USPSA sticker on my truck but I removed it when I realized it made me a target. I started travelling to matches in stealth mode, with no obvious gun-related gear visible in plain sight.

Wouldn't it be easier to just sit at or near a range and copy all the plate/car info? With todays technology it isn't hard to find anybody if you want to.

I don't have sticker on my car, but i do wear gun related clothing all the time and am proud to do so. I also have and do take my son and his friends shooting, with the parents of those friends approvals first. I've told the boys not to go bragging to everyone what i let them shoot, but i'm sure they tell their parents (i tell them beforehand anyway) and good buds. Maybe the odds of me getting a breakin are a little higher than someone who owns no guns, but i'm willing to risk it, rather than hide my freedom and live in fear of what could happen.

+1 :thumbup
I have NRA stickers on my helmet and bike's top case. I was told by a guy in Cole Valey that I am brave to have those stickers on in the City.:laughing

i always slap my friends when they talk about my guns in places where there are people we dont really know and if they do mention it i am sure to add on that besides my loaded shotgun right next to my bed they are all in a huge xpensive safe.

Probably, but I'm talking more about the target-of-opportunity scenario. Say for example a gangbanger that lives near you recognizing the NRA sticker at a stoplight.

I don't do either. I just exercise due prudence as part of my responsibilities as a gun-owner. I'm not questioning your practices, I just have mine. I like being the gray man, the fact that I'm a strong 2A guy is mostly just known to my friends and family with the exception of these forums (and honestly how many of you would recognize me if you saw me on the street).

Government and criminals aside. The last thing I want to be is to be known as the "go to" guy in my neighborhood when the shit hits the fan. I've already had one incident of domestic violence where a neighbor knocked on my door late at night, begging me to protect her from her crazed husband. That was not pleasant. In the event of a societal breakdown (a la LA riots, Katrina) I don't want leeches coming over to me for protection either.

I hate that shit. There's a couple of BARFers who I've already remonstrated for publicly outing me as a gun-owner in front of people I don't know. Just because you own guns, and I own guns, it doesn't make us buddies.

+1000 when someone talks about some of there guns and i dont really know them i just say 'o thats cool', and than some idiot freind of mine will bring up my stuff. ill only talk guns with people i know. or if a close buddy of a friend needs help with something.

Hell I'm one of those bastards that takes a different route home from the range every time I go.

I shoot everybody at the range before I leave, and shoot everyone who sees me on the way home. :cool

In Utah, I can't imagine that adds up to a lot of people. Plus, Jake and I have seen you drive home from the range, it's a wonder you make it home at all. :laughing

Check the for sale section of Calguns, they pop up all the time. Looks like this is the only CA friendly store with 'em in stock.

Wilit,

Thanks for the info on the P6. I found one at City Arms for $450. Condition wise its pretty good.

Had to put it on Layaway due to the fact I can DROS after the 13th. Can't wait. Lucked out and got 200 rounds of 9mm from Tabors.

That's a good price. I paid $575 @ Irvington Arms for a factory refurb in 'excellent condition' as graded by the factory.

Yea mine was a West German Police Trade-in thats was factory refurbished.
Comes with two mags and the cheap Sig Blue box. Wish it came with the Holster though.

How do you like yours?

I might have to liquidate some of my collection.

Any interest in an H&K USP 9, S&W 642-2, Belgium Browning .308 lever action.... etc.

Drop me a PM, I got many more -- but I can't sell the AR's cause they're registered, sorry peeps.
