BARF Militia

I am migrating photos from flickr to SmugMug. Last night I smuggled my gun pr0n and match pictures, many of which were private in flickr. If you like gun pr0n, there are pics of custom STI, SV, and Tanfoglio Open divisions pistols, custom STI and Tanfoglio Limited/Standard/L10 division pistols, custom Limited/Standard division AR-15 rifle and Remmy 1100 shotgun, Marocchi O/U sporting clays shotgun, etc. If you like shooting pics, there are pistol and 3-gun matches from Ecuador, Costa Rica, Arizona, California, Nevada, and Oregon.

Ezekiel,

Thanks for the Target.

I have one more question for the Rifle Experts:

Should I trade my M1903a3 for a Yugo SKS m59\66??

Part of me wants to do it but I am having lots of hesistation.

If it's in decent shape why not just sell the '03?

To me!:thumbup

Just got back from the range with the latest new to me 1911s. The S&W is great, but man did it need to be sighted in. At 15 yds freehand i was missing at least 4 inches high and 4 to 5 inches left. Figured it must be me so i shot from the blocks, same thing. Spent almost 100 rds dialing it in. Dude before me must have dicked with the sights to compensate for his own handgun skills, plus he said he shot IDPA with it so i figured it'd be good to go. Yeah.......NOT!

First time i've ever had to adjust the sights on a handgun more than a 1/2 turn or so horiz and vertical. Other shooters heard the utterance "FUCK!!" more than once from me today.

Happily the bitch is now money. The PARA was off in the same direction, but not as much. I'll fix that one tomorrow.

anyone ever try to reload rifle and pistol ammo? i'd like to get into it but have no clue how to do it or which brand or which training video or class to get. TIA

I don't try. :teeth

I bought an RCBS Rockcrusher kit back in the early 90s (at a Reed's parking lot sale), it came with a book. That's all I needed to get started, I'd imagine you'll pick it up just as easily. :thumbup

The ex-wife was complaining about how much I was spending on ammo, sure fixed her complaint!

Irvington Arms offers reloading clinics. I can't vouch for them as I've never attended one.

I would recommend you watch the YouTube videos for a rough how-to guide, then buy and study at least one good reloading manual. If you are at all mechanically inclined and can measure items with a caliper and / or micrometer, buy all the right equipment and take it slowly, you should be ok. I learned on my own without the benefit of videos and have had no issues thus far.

No drinking before or during reloading, eliminate all distractions (no television, computer, radio, telephone etc.), lay out only the components you will need for a particular load on a clean, uncluttered reloading bench. Absolutely do not have more than one powder on the bench at one time, keep your primers in their original packaging, and utilize mechanical and visual checks for correct powder charge in each case. Never mix powders and ensure any excess is returned to its original container (easy to do because it's the only one on the bench, right?)

Do not rely on internet boards for load data without thoroughly cross-checking, using a current factory manual.

Adhere to all measurements given for a particular cartridge and loaded round in the reloading manual.

What calibers do you plan to reload for?

I know I'm wasting my time, but here's one for Mike T to turn down again. Nice M59/66 for $325.

:laughing Oh yeah, you're wasting your time alright! See, I posted about that gun here, in the Barf Militia thread, specifically for Mike on 6/18. See post here.

The next day, you also posted the gun for Mike. See post here.

Of course, this is the third try! :rofl

Mike already responded when I posted it. He said something along the lines of it wasn't up to his standards or something...so that's a negative. But I'll pull my weight anyway and draw his attention to it again in a few days if it hasn't sold! :teeth

:p currently saving my money for a tattoo...when i go back to school/job, i'll be shopping for a gun...yes yes, but at least i'll have money when i do it this time ;p :twofinger

From NRAILA:

Thursday, June 25, 2009

Effective, July 1, Nevada will no longer recognize Right-to-Carry permits from Utah or Florida. They have, however, added Ohio and West Virginia as recognized states.

Each May, the Nevada Department of Public Safety conducts an audit of states and their Right-to-Carry laws for the purpose of determining which states it will recognize.

The Nevada DPS dropped Utah because it does not have a live fire requirement, which is a part of Nevada's training requirements. When the Nevada DPS first began its state by state audit of Right-to-Carry laws in 2007, DPS admitted to NRA representatives that they overlooked the live fire training requirement. After further review, they determined that Utah wasn't similar enough to keep it on the list of recognized states.

Florida will no longer be recognized because its permits are now valid for seven years instead of five.

The Nevada DPS and the Nevada Sheriffs and Chiefs will be hosting their annual Right-to-Carry forum inCarson City in August with a teleconference feed to Las Vegas. We encourage all members to attend this informational meeting. Details will be forthcoming.

Bah, now I have to get a Nevada CCW too. Guess I'll take a ride out there and take a class.

coolest thing happened today...I took my mom and taught her how to shoot.....by 15 mins..she was shooting spinner targets at 50 yards.

She said she only shot a gun when she was really little and I'm so glad I got to teach her to shoot again. She's 72 now. Just wanted to share this with you folks.
