Yes and no. The Garand gas system has very specific pressure needs at the gas port - not to be confused with chamber pressure. Different powder and projectile configurations produce very different gas port pressure than most commercial ammunition. If you shoot too heavy or too light a bullet and / or the wrong powder you will eventually damage your Garand. The operating rod is the Achilles' heel of this system and is easily bent if the incorrect ammunition is utilized. Other bad things can happen as well, so you would be better off shooting the CMP available ammunition. A few cartridge manufacturers are making loads and marking their boxes as Garand specific.

M1 Garand @ Big 5

I checked out an M1 at the Concord Big 5 today. Looked like it had been dragged behind a truck then dipped in cosmoline. And just $799 :wtf.

I have one in much better condition that I'll let go for $750 and include a hundred rounds of ammo......

My son is trying to decide between a CMP Garand or a K98. I know Garands but don't know much about the K98.

If no pics can you offer a description? Manufacturer, serial number range etc. etc.

That answered my question, I figured that was going to be the case. And you know what, someone will actually buy it too. Instead of doing research and shopping for one. Most sheeple are like that.:laughing

Mike....please do all us men the needful. Go get a latte from Peets. Then stop by your nearest nail salon and get your weekly pedicure and be sure they put the fake nails on the toes with pasted on flowers. Be sure they pluck and form your eyebrows too.
