Cutting carbs is working for me.
Dinner tonight, one Hormel smoked port chop (keeps my pension coming) and some fresh asparagus.I did grate some parmigiano reggiano on the grass.

Thought you said keeps your penis coming. :wow :laughing

Asparagus is so freaking awesome. Only last year did I cave and start baking asparagus in the oven, with olive oil. I avoided it for years but not anymore.

I still continue to hate my scale. Visual progress is harder to monitor since it's so gradual. I did manage to fit into an unforgiving silk dress that I could not wear in November so I had some positive feedback.

I've added in 40 minutes of moderate cardio a day as soon as I get up and 1 additional strength training workouts a week (total of 3). Diet wise, I am adding 1/2 a grapefruit each morning and eating a low carb, high protein diet (aiming for ~ 60g carbs/100 g protein).

14 days till I have to put on a bikini.

It's when you bump into someone you haven't saw in awhile, and they're like "wow you lost weight, looking good." That feeling of accomplishment. :thumbup

Bad week for me. I was 176.4 this morning. Too much pizza, plus I got dragged to an Oscar Party where I pigged out on candy and drank too much. Now we have a house guest who is a motivated cook, so delicious smells coming out of the kitchen have had me eating much more than normal. Poor me! :rofl

I had a stressful week with lots of coffee and lots of time on the elliptical too. I was 173.8 this morning, so back below my starting weight and maintaining again. Hope everyone is sticking to their plans. Hope someone else posts this week!:thumbup

Not giving up here, just been a little crazy busy lately! Still staying on track, and making progress. Finally made it past a "scale plateau" this week, so was excited for that to happen! Was hovering in the 143-ish range for quite some time - measurements were going down (which I've decided to calculate into my "weight" for my other challenges since those are team based, and if I'm losing fat, it's not fair to the team if my weight hasn't changed when I'm actually progressing!). But this week the scale finally budged, consistantly, so keeping my fingers crossed that I can MAYBE bust through that 140 mark by Round 1 :cool

You've got over two weeks for less than two pounds. You can do it! :thumbup

I think I'm around 188 right now. It would be nice to reach 190 before the end but my weight has been stalling right now.

I am doing this up and down with 4 lbs thing. I need to get to the gym and stop making excuses. Pushups everyday at least is keeping me somewhat on track but

IT"S GIRL SCOUT COOKIE SEASON :cry

I turned down free thin mints from a coworker yesterday :cry:cry:cry

I'll join you guys and gals on this journey. I'm the master at yo-yoing! My goal for years has been 175. I got close this time last year at 178 and gained it all back.

Correction, a week and a half :laughing

But I've had a couple weigh ins that were close - 140.8 yesterday, so unless my body decides to plateau yet again, I think it'll make that drop. Been years since I've broken below that wall. Feels good to have it within reach.

Still a long ways from my overall goal, but embracing the mini victories along the way - especially in the fitness department as that is a MUCH bigger concern. I know if I'm fit and in shape, the weight will go where it needs to...so trying to keep my focus on that, trying to make it a part of my life again instead of letting the lazy "desk-couch-bed-desk" routine rule.

Awesome you guys! Glad folks are sticking with it! This thread is really important to me and has been really life changing over the last 8-9 months, so thanks for sticking with it and helping me stay motivated! :party

Back in the gym after 4 months off - my normal gym closed with zero notice and I have had a nagging knee problem for the last 5 years that flared up.

Gained 30lbs and lost about 30% on my compound lifts.

I am hoping to make a quick rebound.

I'm still in it, just waiting until I can break into those 230's. So, so very close and I will be there!!!!!

I'm on the road and away from a scale that I trust, but I've been working out regularly (hiking, rock climbing, yoga, and weights) and feeling good. :)

It happened this morning - last night was "killer cardio night" which must have pushed things over the edge LOL!!!!!!!!!

139.6....I haven't been in the 130's since 2012, with the exception of one week in 2014 when I had food poisoning - but all the weeks before and after that were in the 140's so I don't count that LOL. I was super stoked to have that happen, that puts me officially 20 pounds down from my all-time-high last June/July.

20 POUNDS. where the fuck was I packing it all. No wonder I couldn't squeeze into my pants :laughing
