Dammit. I had a hard time beating that one. I didn't mean to have the assists on, I was using them on the 908 challenge, it's a must to beat Frk. I've found that a 60 accel/ 50 decel works well with the diff.
 
Have you all surrendered the title of drag race master to me, or someone wanna try and take me down? I need to build up a McLaren F1 to see why it can pull on the Ultimate Aero so hard past 200mph.

the monthly drag challenge is the only one i think i have even tried. i do do well at drag racing, i dont understand setups, im not great with gear ratios and i dont even want to deal with the clutch thing. i think you can change your controller to use a trigger for the clutch so its on an ON/OFF switch.

if you look at the leaderboards, the ultimate aero dominates the top times on the Top Gear Mile. my favorite challenge is the Reasonably Priced car challenge. i just wish you could set your own challenges for just your friends to compete in. you pick the car/car class/limitations, the track and have at it. Im think f class challenge around nurburgring. :rofl
 
I know the absolute fastest on the leaderboards used the Ultimate Aero. But for me, the next "ghost" I race against is a McLaren. I can beat him on the holeshot and can put a few car lengths on him by 1/4 mile. But once we get into the 200mph area he starts pulling on me and eventually edges me by a 1/3 of a car length at the line.

I think the top guys have fucked with the gear ratios so much, that the Ultimate Aero is essentially a 5 speed, or maybe even a 4. May be the way to go since 1st and 2nd you can barely feed in 50% power before you get too much wheelspin. So it makes sense to make the ratios super tall and reduce the torque multiplication.

And the monthly drag challenge is the only drag challenge period. I hope they at least have a drag challenge every month otherwise those drag strip tracks will go to waste.
 
And what...F class around the ring? What kind of time would be on the leaderboard? 20 minutes!?

i saw that, i think it was posted a few weeks ago in here. there is no van but the is the hummer.


for some reason i thought there was a drag section. the time i did in the Ultimate Aero was with no second gear. i never did the drag racing in forza 3 and i probably will only do the drag races that show up in career mode of forza 4.
 
I am now in the top 1k on the drag challenge. The McLaren I did it with is in the club garage. It crosses the line at about 255.
 
is that the new standard? if you rank in the top 1000 of the leaderboards you share your car with the club?

ill have to look at that autocross challenge. i know i had a hard time beating someone elses time on that but i only gave it 4 or 5 tries. im not really good at auto cross. just when i start to really get to know the tracks well i try auto cross and its like your are on a completely different track with the same scenery :laughing
 
It's not a standard. I never shared the King Cobra I used to get in the top 100 for the drag challenge in October. But for this month's, I've put way way more time into it and I think I've gone as fast as I can go, so I think I'm done with the drag challenge unless one of you beats me. There's gotta be more speed in the car, but I've tried so many different gear ratios...I dunno how to get it. Theres a guy who's ranked #30 with the McLaren and he's half a second quicker than me. So I threw the car in the club garage to see if any of you guys can find more speed with it.
