To be fair, the FPS spike is due to underpowered GPU. I'm currently scouting out a new card :teeth, so I'll update later on any improvements.
 
HD6870. Everything runs and is decently smooth until shit starts hitting the fan. Then the FPS spikes happen.

I'm going to try turning down the resolution to see if there's an improvement.

So it's a GPU heavy game? Maybe I'll give it a try with my current rig. Something tells me that the 3-4 year old CPU is gonna tell me to go fuck myself.

I vaguely remember you having a solid GPU. If so, I think your current rig should be ok.

The good news is that a fairly inexpensive Core i3 or FX-4000-series CPU could be fast enough to handle the High preset without capping graphics performance. If you want to play at the Ultra preset, grab a Core i5 or FX-6000-class processor at the very least.

7870 Ghz edition. Buuuuut it's a pretty old Phenom x4 9750 CPU. That processor just absolutely gets slaughtered trying to run Arma or DayZ.

You might be struggling like me then. After I turned down the resolution, FPS spikes have been much more manageable. Though, I just sucked it up and bought a GTX770 off Amazon. :laughing
