Baseball '26

J. H. Lee with the inside the park HR. That was fun. :thumbup

Sacramento River, used to play on that river a lot.
Chasin' it thru Ol' Sac, Jazz fest, Dixieland, wafting over the water.
Used to be big doin's over Memorial Day weekend.

A's are on the menu, , ,

Lost it Sat nite.
Giants flying their drone for ball yard shots, took it to Sac.
A few shots of the flaming sunset, with night lighting in the foreground, field below, overhead shot to the west. Great beauty, bright colors, setting over a range of mountains.
It Hit Me Hard, moisture leaks, mushy feelings, for recognizing that notch in the range of mountains, , ,
My target when traveling west, homeward bound, since early sixties, before I could drive, even.
So many times, over the years,
Now in Az. yet bitch slapped by a sunset.

This is a lot of fun.

It's Rivalry Weekend, when MLB pairs up the teams geographically. They did this last year too.

For us, we have Dodgers @ Angels. Y'all get Giants @ A's.

But it's like that all across baseball (as best as practical): Yankees @ Mets, Rangers @ Astros, Cubs @ White Sox, etc.

Angels managed to sweep the Dodgers across all 6 games last year (and we actually have had a good overall records against the Dodgers historically).

So, we'll see what happens tonight. Angels stadium will be gorged with riotous Dodger fans.

Did I mention I love baseball?

Took the family to the Modesto Roadsters (Pioneer League) Opening Night.

Good stuff Luis :thumbup

I have tix to the Giant in August. Be my first game in a couple years.

National Vs American, is there a difference between them, ?
All the rule changes, every year, for how long now?

I jumped into a conversation of the changes to this "rivalry",
A's are going to Vegas, Diamond Backs will be the closest, for that new league rivalry.
Next closest is Colorado,
As for the Giants new rival, I guess the Angels will take on all the National teams in Ca ?

Boy, there sure is this year. The AL pretty much sucks this year.

As for rules, no, there's no difference anymore. NL go the Designated Hitter years ago, and that was the primary difference.

We are a bit outnumbered to be sure.

But I do like the new format as of a few years ago, where every AL team faces every NL team, once, per season -- half on the road, half at home, not including the special series like the Angels v Dodgers series. We see them twice a year, not counting the exhibition games.

We get pretty invaded when hosting the Padres, and completely overrun when hosting the Dodgers.

(I like the idea that one reason we get slammed by Dodger fans is simply it's cheaper to watch a Dodger game at the Big A than at Dodgers stadium.)

But it's nice seeing the NL teams.

That would be a regional rivalry, as the A's and D'Backs are AL and NL, respectively.

When they add the next expansion teams, it'll be interesting how they may mess up the leagues and divisions.

Bring the heat in regular season: makes me watch!
Amazing.
And then there’s Merrill Kelly for the D-backs. Low 90’s on his fastball, but he does alright. (At least against the Giants 😂)

will be going back to Sutter Health Stadium out here in West Sacramento to see Oakland vs. Yankees. Looking forward to walking there and back/

Hope y'all don't mind this proud papa sharing;

Lil Bubba was named Vine Valley Athletic League MVP!! For his 100 plus at bats, he only struck out 6 times, woot. Sonoma Dragons play for the D5 Championship this Saturday against Montgomery. Wish us luck!!

Well the A's have been "A'sing" lately, hopefully they can get back to scoring in bunches again. Giants? OOF!
