Battlefield 4/CoD Ghosts

Support gets c-4!!!!!!!!!! I have no idea why on earth you would give support c-4 with the ability to ammo pak. For example in the beginning you get a MX25 auto grenade launcher. Totally awesome for 4 rounds and then your out of ammo but drop an ammo box and just hole up in a building raining 203 rounds on everyone. Now imagine that but with c-4. Why would I want another class?

I know what I'm doing tonight.

Peep my Emblem. Anyone know what it is? Took 45 mins to make!

In BF4 I thought only Recon had the C-4 (like in BF2)??

You emblem is escrima or another FMA?

Been playing BF4 since the beginning of the beta and I gotta say WOW WHAT AN AWESOME GAME. They really did a number on the game again and it looks/feels amazing. With that being said the current state of the servers is complete shit. It is very hard to complete a game without it crashing to desktop or freezing up. Once they get that under control the game will be amazing once again. The beta ran smooth so I can understand why people who didn't get a chance to play the beta are upset.

I have support maxed out and I am currently working on engineer.

+1 Those expecting a game-changer from BF3 are going to be disappointed. Those expecting BF3 with additions and refinement will likely be happy.

I'm a little out of the loop. :blush

All my information comes from teh Barfz.

Was it any good?

I bought it. Total CS purists don't like it (obviously) but I think it's really fun and it brings a much needed graphics and physics update to a well-loved classic. I still spend almost all of my time on it playing Gun Game though. :teeth

Wow, solid ratio. I am like 1.3 to 1 (so, aligned with your theory). I never played MW3. It's interesting though, it seems like Battlefield DOES suit your style, if you dislike the "equalizing" gameplay in some CoDs.

It does. However, I suck at it :(

The strategy is different. Team play is a must and the gameplay is a lot clunkier and more realistic. My skill set is making constant split second decisions on how to get the upper hand on opponents, predicting spawn patterns, bunny-hopping, drop-shooting, effective killstreak management, and finding a loadout that best suits a particular map. I still have hella videos from back when I was recording my MW2 playing. My best loadout was UMP .45 with a holosight, stun nades (which actually were extremely useful if you knew how to utilize them), C4 (another typically overlooked item, it's really pro actually), Marathon Pro, Stopping Power Pro, and Ninja Pro. I didn't use a silencer, people get attracted to the red dot and feed you more kills. Running around in circles makes people spawn near you and you get to pick them off continually.

Eventually I got so good it wasn't fun anymore. I would ask other people in the game to give me one weapon, and only one weapon to play the entire round with. I'd still win every time, even with just a throwing knife. :|

I feel as though you think a K/D ratio actually means something in the game which it doesn't. Wins mean something because you get points for them. You don't get points for fewer deaths. The idea behind both of these games is to capture and control or blow up objs, not to stay alive the longest and have the most kills. Anyone over time can do that and both of these games don't present any sort of skill mastery. It's run and gun for a reason.

They totally do have a mastery... I've experimented with certain classes and weapons and equipment to settle on something which optimizes my effectiveness. That in itself is a mastery of the game. Now, a mastery over other players, that means you have a high KDR, because you kill them and they don't kill you. Mastery over wins is different because that includes objective-based game modes, however, my high KDR meant that I typically wasted at least half of the other team in Search and Destroy, and on Headquarters, my KDR would be like infinite because I would get a nuke instead of even trying to capture the objective. Love it when the other team is about to win by 10 points and you blow the nuke. So much nerd rage.

You said "it's run and gun for a reason," but then what would give me such a massive advantage over other players? Blind, dumb luck? My winstreak in MW2 is thousands of games long (seriously). I'm not a dummy beating my head against the keyboard. Maybe other people are, and that's why it was so easy.

Some bullet points I came across about the new CoD

The FOV is locked to 65.
You cant disable mouse acceleration.
Game doesn't open unless you have 6GB of RAM on your computer.
Mouse sensitivity is a numberless bar with no fine tuning possible. The lowest sensitivity is too low, and one up from it is too high.
There's an option to set 144hz monitor, yet my frame rate is capped at 91.
There are no detected servers, don't be fooled.
You can't view your ping at all.
The game play and aiming feels incredibly clunky and slow, mainly because of the unnecessarily low FOV and random mouse acceleration.

Holy shit. those are absolute game-breakers. That's fucking disgraceful. Any chance of patches fixing that? Or is it just a big "fuck you" to PC players, driving them off forever, so they don't have to make a PC version again?

How's the gameplay? Spawn-kill-die-repeat?

I'm just gonna go back to playing MW2/CoD 4 :wtf

I hate to break it to you but if you think a skill set involves spawn camping, bunny hoping and drop shooting I got news for you that those aren't really skills cause anyone can do that with ease. I think you may be only remembering your wins. COD doesn't really require much skill as you pointed already and any game that gives you a nuke as you spawn camped and bunny hoped your way to hellfire missile strikes then helicopter machine gun goodness isn't a true skill set. It just means you figured out how to game the system IMO.

That's what I'm talking about... you might think that's fucking ghey but I mean I still have skills that let me win the game. Might not be a brilliant tactician but I've got quick reflexes, good aim, and I can outfox people in a dogfight. It takes a lot of skill and training and environmental awareness to do stuff like bouncing a grenade off the arch of a doorway so it blows up the guy chasing you, or shooting multiple enemies while falling. It may not require as much skill as other games, but of the skills it does require, I have become quite familiar. Say what you want, but being better than other people consistently connotes skill in my opinion.

And believe me, I remember the losses. There were very, very few. Whatever team I was on would win, every game, without fail. You might call me a cheap bastard for learning how to exploit the game to my advantage, but regardless of gametype, the fact that I could kill so many people at such a fast pace would give even complete idiot teammates a huge advantage.

I would take a screenshot of my stats to prove it but I uninstalled MW2 months ago (I don't game as much as I used to... or like, at all really) and on my slow-ass DSL here it would take many, many hours to install. That seems a bit much just for vanity.

The game is still new, so everyone is basically running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I played a few games, most of the maps I played seem to be a bit larger, have to be a bit more tactical and not just run out in the open. Animation is pretty neat, the maps are more dynamic, lots of things to climb over and slide under. Most of the maps I played have two or more stories, so it's not just a boring one level map. "Run to Slide", which replaced the dolphin dive, is pretty neat, it allows you to aim your gun much faster when you complete the slide. No noticeable lag yet, despite my shitty connection here at the office. That's all I got for now, I'll probably play a bit more tonight.

Are you on PC or a console? Because the PC version is usually much shittier due to lack of fucks given, and if it's like what greener described in his post, unless there is a major overhaul with huge patches, it's not even worth buying.

Console (FTW) :teeth

BF4 is unplayable right now. server crash constantly, and if they are not crashing they are rubberbanding the fuck out of you. the engine/gameplay seems very different then bf3. not better or worse, jsut differnt. seems teh aiming and accurancy are a lot differnt. somethings it takes 8 shots to kill someone, sometimes 2, and i am not sure why the difference.

dling ghost right now for PC and will play tonight

I'm still getting a feel for the game, personally I prefer the Black Ops franchise vs MW, so I wasn't really looking forward to this release, but I'm going to give it a chance. Nothing really groundbreaking, it's still a COD game. It's like expecting something new out of the Madden games. It's basically the same game year after year with a few improvements thrown in.

Still haven't decided if I'm going to give BF4 a try.

Thought so. Oh well. At least I'm part of the glorious PC gaming master race. :teeth

You need to step up your game. You say you are a badass but keep playing people that suck. That means you reached your ceiling and should move on to playing people that have skill. Google "Does COD require skill" and see what you find. There is a reason its user friendly and requires very little skill to play at all. This is the same thing that happened to WoW. Used to be a hard game but they realized they could make more money by dumbing down the skill level.

It used to be fun, problem is the games feel so completely lacking of polish and finesse. I played MW3 a good bit, and it was like, spawn, shoot a guy, get shot, repeat.

You're a camper, right? :laughing
