Being 19 sucks!

That's not gonna happen. You just have to be carefull. No one really steals SC300s. And it's pretty hard to bypass the security. I locked my keys in the trunk once. No locksmiths would help me.

Yep. What about you get in a squidly situation, and that SC300 gets totaled, your fault? It's not like it hasn't happened before, right? That's a long time to make payments without having a car to drive.

I don't know why you think the cops hate you, hell, they don't even know you! Something you're doing is making this stuff happen, drawing attention to yourself. Something you're doing makes you stand out in the crowd of cars driving down the road. :wow

I used to ride with my uncle (CHP for 10 years) when I was a kid in my early teens, and he'd always point out how the people he pulled over stood out from the rest of the traffic. Everybody's doing 80 down the freeway, no problem. then you add the one guy going 85, moving from lane to lane passing the other cars. Guess who gets the light show in the rear view?

The OP's got a bike (or wants to get one). Think about that for a sec, and think abouty how often bikes get ripped, or totaled by a new rider.

Insurance isn't a burden put on you by "The Man" to keep you down, or anything like that. It's to protect your investment, or in the case of having a loan, to protect the bank's investment.

You're right, full coverage for you would be expensive. Look at how you've done so far, and you'll see the insurance company's point. :(

I'm not trying to bash you or anything, hell, when I was younger I racked up 16 driving on suspended licenses. I didn't have a license due to all the tickets I used to get, and I got a lot of them in the mail.:) Did some jail time behind all that too, but I'm a little smarter now. I don't ride like a nut with the front wheel in the air from every light, I stop when they do hit the lights, and most of the time I don't get a ticket.

I've been pulled over 4 times in the past 7 years, and I've got one ticket I went to school for 6 years ago. The rest were warnings. :)

I dont go to school, i dont pay rent, and i have a job that pays me 600 bucks a week. I am a loss Prevention officer at Frys Electronics. if anybody comes in i'll try and get ya a discount! it varys from product to product but its usually pretty good.

For sho homie...I'm pm ya whenever i need something.
Btw. i worked part-time and have no medical coverage, I went to bike-line for liability and medical coverage (max medical coverage 5g/100deduc). So you uninsurred motorist out there better not crash into me, cuz i'm not gonna be happy.

btw 600/week is alot(*50-100 bucks a week here), i think i would have done what you have done too.
Just work it off and come back to school. These people made it sound like it's the end of the world but nobody is forcing you.:thumbup

When the thread came up this morning:
"You were negative 2yo when you joined the forum? They some precocious skilz."

Then, "Oh zombie ..." still, props :afm199

Can confirm as I’m creeping up on 40 this year, I wish I was 19 again.
Being :afm199 I think 40 is still in the prime of life. You got 5 years before the physical creep.

Do enjoy the end of your thirties. Chrome OK now? :teeth

How the BARF demographic has evolved. :wow

I definitely don't want to go back to dumbass 19yo me, but back to 2005? Sign me up! That was a good time in my life (30's).

Being 19 sucks for the purposes of getting motorcycle insurance but for all other things, it’s awesome!

My first bike was a salvaged katana 600 with basic liability insurance.

My suggestion is to buy a track bike or buy a bike you don’t have to finance (will be older and cheaper) and get basic liability on it. Lock it up.

Helping a friend’s son get set up with his first bike. Training and gear were the first steps. Then the bike - good tires, suspension and brakes.

Good luck

gonna be the big 3-score (60) in november ... perpetually 19yo on the inside tho.
