bitcoins

BTC over $9800. It seems to be going up more steadily lately, any thoughts on why?

Adoption and large investment firms buying it up.

When it hits 10k it’ll be on the news and the fomo will being again. Then all those people holding from 2018 will sell. It’s gonna be epic.

My guess: too much money and not enough places to invest it.

I heard talk of facebook issuing an electronic currency too. Might it add to the bump? I dunno.

It’s clear some of you have absolutely no business discussing this tech. First you should educate yourself before you spout negativity. Most world governments have started acquiring bitcoin and now one of the largest holders is the IMF with a stack of 170,000 bitcoins in its reserve.
Good luck with your investments.

Yes. I agree turning fossil fuels into 001001010001000's with no useful work done in the process is the perfect encapsulation of absurd culture. Sometimes I think we totally deserve a dino sized asteroid impact.

You guys realize it’s a drop in the bucket right? There is a limited supply and once they’ve been mined there is no more need for energy. That fluff article does
nothing but bring more fomo to the party. It’s advertising for BTC!

If you guys want a good crypto look at BNB. That’s gonna keep mooning. When margin goes live on Binance look out!

BTW I just built out 8 full floors at 430 California st for coinbase. They are spending billions building out offices worldwide. Yeah it’s a bubble that’s gonna pop soon. Lol

I don't think its a drop in the bucket but, even if it is, it's still and absurd use of resources. Using energy to do no work and produce nothing is pretty silly. I'm not blaming anyone for doing it or shaming that it exists. Just pointing out that it is a perfect reflection of the disconnected culture we have created. Anywhoo, enjoy the ride.

I would have to review the report again but power for xmas lights is FAR greater, like 10x what bitcoin uses. That is pure waste. Plus 70 to 75% of mining power is from renewables not fossil fuels.

Yeah but at least we get to look at Christmas lights. Lol. I hope you are correct about coin mining resource usage.

Your concept is flawed. BTC is created from mining. You say nothing is created but if I give you 20 BTC you’d be able to put a down payment on a house right now in the Bay Area.

An asset is created. What you do with said asset is up to you but to say nothing is produced is a sign of not knowing the subject. If nothing is produced why does our own government tax these folks for producing nothing?

My tax attorney said he had to hire another crypto cpa because so many people were filing.

I really believe this is one of those things that require you to be in scene to really understand the impact crypto has had.
