Just before Christmas a welding contractor at work was talking about the 3 of 4 mining machines he just got up and running at his home. On hearing that I figured bitcoin had reached peak hype and I wasn't touching it.
I'll be kicking myself if this time next year its trading at $100K per coin but I also won't have lost any money in it.

Anyone should do their own research when it comes to investing.
I'm getting the same scary feeling from the stock market. Then again that market has been propped up by over valued companies for years now. It has to correct at some time. Hopefully no one gets to screwed.

GoPro was one of mine. I'm also 94 LTC underwater right now for the tune of about 10k. Alt coins haven't come back, still hurting on those. It's hodl season for me. However I do have investments that are doing well in the current dip.
Unlike Blankpage I won't constantly try to get a rise out of someone that made a mistake when investing.

yep. What we are seeing today is the individual investor who has stayed out of the market for the last eight years deciding that this bull is for real and prolonging it. Lots of people gonna get hurt. I'm increasing cash.

You can read back in this same thread where I said the same thing months ago. The wife and I liquidated our equities because I thought we were going to see a downturn in stocks. You can't time the market so we got out a little early. I believe this next downturn is going to be the greatest correction I have seen in my lifetime. Things are way overvalued on wall street right now. If I'm wrong oh well I still have the cash. Really it's all a gamble but if you do you homework you will fair better than most. Information is your friend.
Btw I did trade back and forth between 11k and 9500 but increased the amount of btc I have. I didn't sell and go away.
