Brake Free Technology

It was developed by a BARFer.
They went on Shark Tank to pitch it.

From everything I have heard it works well.

I’ve had it on my helmet for 2 1/2 years, it’s worth it.
Do not notice the weight or any air dynamic change. Three brightness settings, I like the first one the lowest setting.
Mounts on a /—\ clip and removes easily. With a additional clip mounts to Pillion helmet
I’ve had cagers nod me and say they like my helmet. … people i ride with` say it works good.

I guess the scenario m concerned is if I’m slowing down the device will turn the light on but the bike break lights are not on. Then I press the brakes and both are lit. Maybe I’m over thinking it.
Really like the device, just want to make sure I consider all pros and cons.

I think you are over thinking it. If you decelerate without the brakes and it comes on good. It lets the car behind know you are slowing.
I wonder what it does if you look down.
Nothing. The accelerometer does not care where you look.

If one were looking straight down, the accelerometer should see 1G of acceleration (decel, really). I wonder how it tells the difference. Could have an electronic gyro in it that knows the orientation of the sensor.

helmet in my hands _break free is turned on: I rotate the helmet to look straight down, there’s no reaction. I turned the helmet left and right, no reaction. I accelerate…decelerate the helmet. There’s a reaction

Has anyone ever hit their helmet with this on? I worry about putting anything on my helmet that won't come off in a head hit and possibly pull the helmet into a weird position (or off).

Thanks for that.

I don't know how you can say it works well unless you mean it lights when it should. Does it prevent an accident?
I've seen a few on riders and the light is barely noticeable. Granted this was always during daylight hours.

99% of usage has been during daylight hours. It’s very bright/ even at 12 noon.

saw one tonight at the Moto Social and it seemed pretty bright at night
