Cars: 2005 Mustang GT vs. Corvette

Corvette. My neighbor took me out on a joy ride in his Z06 and it hauls major ass. If I had the dough, I'd get it. If I'm not mistaken, it had a handle on the dashboard of the passenger seat for your passenger to hold on to during those "oh shit" moments.
 
Whats the big deal about the '63 split window vette? A guy down the street from me had one when I was growing up. Didn't look like anything special. My old HS econ teacher had the '63 covertable along with a '95 ZR1. He wasn't always a teacher...
