Phil McGraw holds a PhD from a school ranked 249th in the United States and has never held a license to practice in California. He had a license in Texas but he let that one expire in 2006. Read into that however you'd like to.

He's not a top-notch psychologist by any means (check his ratings) but managed to get his foot in Oprah's proverbially large corporate door and thus has "practiced" under the guise of "entertainment" allowing him to say basically whatever he wants without any repercussions from his peers or his field, much the same way Faux News hides behind their mantra that Tucker Carlson and the rest of their prime time tripe lineup are actually "entertainment" and not real news so that they can do the same thing. I'd imagine the only people that take him seriously are people who have nothing better to do than watch T.V. all day for their daily lessons in morality and what new bullshit to be afraid of. Same with Carlson's fans.

Dr Phil does entertainment. All of his 'guests' are specially picked for appealing to the audience. It's the modern day version of a freak show.

Do you ever notice (my wife watches it) that despite making $Millions per show, he never, ever offers to help people who are in real trouble with even a tiny percent of money that he makes from each episode. All that he offers is the services of others who are getting free advertising. He's like the Vatican were the money only flows in one direction.

I was thinking in terms of the individual churches. Parishioners could put money in for many decades, but if it becomes more expensive to retro-fit a church than they'd take in for 5-10 years they will be shut down, the property sold and the profits sent to the Vatican. I've seen that play out dozens of times. It's a business.

There is not even any pretense anymore, it should just be called, "Trashy People Degrade Themselves on TV and Then Fight for Money." They don't even give them chairs anymore. It apparently is just standard for the women to to take their shoes off for fighting as soon as they get to the stage.
