Clash of Clans

I just noticed that you can also now upgrade dragons to lvl4 with TH9. 14 days & 7 million elixer.
 
Miscalculation. That was to max all the DE spells, but some don't max in TH9. I think it's closer to 46 days
 
Canceled my TH10 upgrade this morning and will remain at TH9 until the new stuff is fully upgraded. I kind of like being a strong TH9 anyway.....

Two max inferno towers are better than about a dozen level 10 walls. I upgraded to TH10 with about 50/50 lvl8/lvl9 walls and in no way regret it. Everything else was maxxed.
 
Infernos and xbows do so much in the deterrence category. You should get the gold for every person that clicks next when looking to loot your base.
 
I wish you would get a loot bonus for defense. When I have a great defense, it usually costs me 70-100k gold, 30-50 k elixer and a little oil to reset my traps and rearm.
 
Other than trophy hunting and the defense achievement, I don't see the point in trying to win defenses. It's too much of a resource drain if you win.

I prefer a farming base with a nice th snipe.

On another note, i need a new TH9 war base for my alt. Any good suggestions? I'd like to avoid the popular ones of course :)
 
I like doing the base designs myself. There are just certain keys you want to keep in mind.

1- As much as you can, try funneling the attacking troops through your traps.
2- Keep Wizard Towers and Air Defenses from overlapping areas. This will help deter lavaloon attacks against you
3- Compartmentalize as many things as possible with space between. This causes attacks to be slowed down and 3* harder
4- Don't have symmetry. Asymmetry confuses the AI. Don't have wall edges line up evenly.
5- Keep you Archer queen inside the center portion, not allowing her to get lured/killed easily
 
One trick with the AQ, is to set her 1 space behind the wall where attackers would come. This prevents her from jumping the wall to attack ground troops like the BK and force them to attack the wall trying to get to her while she plinks away.

Man, i get so impatient creating a base. But we'll see what i come up with. I'll post it up here for some reviews :)

That's a great tip! I didn't know that.

The reason for my #2 is that when a lava hound targets the AD you don't want the Wizard Tower to target it as well. That way when the balloons come the WT can pick them off with the splash damage.
 
It's a catch-22. If the WT are unprotected, it only takes 2...maybe 3 loons to target and take it out on a surgical Lavaloonion. I've seen ones where the WT is protected by a seeking mine, which is cool, as long as the LavaHound doesn't fly by and trigger it. Maybe supplementing with air-skellies on the oppo side as the mines can help?

I do like having at least 2 AD's covering each other, as it wipes the LavaHound quick enough so the xbows and then quickly mop up the pups. Unfortunately my alt has only L6 AD's at this point, and L2 X-Bows. I'd use my main's base, but that only makes sense when one is sitting out of war.

just came across this thread... been playing for awhile now, high TH10.

so is there a barf clan? enough ppl to war? been in my current clan for about 2 yrs, think its time for me to move on.
 
Not right now. Several of us have openings in our current clans though. Bill is in a war clan, Others are in farming clans. My current is a trophy pushing clan.

What kind of clan are you looking for?

My clan has been sucking at war due to lack of participation. So turned to farming mostly. I'd say about 50% of the clan is going though the early TH9 pains so they opt out of war.
 
Can you clear your chat panel before your next screen shot? My OCD is killing me trying to click the chat tab
