It's real simple. She only digs you because of your motorcycle.
So tomorrow, you come in all upset. Tell her that you dumped the ZX-6R on the grease spot at a stoplight, and it's really wadded. But your wife was really helpful, and talked to your insurance company, and took their word that they'd be sending a check, and bought you one of these.
And that you're feeling kind of sad about the downgrade in transportation, but you know that you'll feel better when she goes to lunch with you, riding on the back of it, long hair flowing in the breeze.
Ten bucks says you get a "Oh, man, you know, I'd love to, but I really need to take care of this filing or else my boss is going to be upset."

So there's a lot of advice being thrown at Feanor regarding what to do with his, uh, situation... I've never met the guy, but from his posts, he seams like he's got his head on straight, and I'm sure he'll do the right thing(s).
I will offer some unsolicited advice to you, however, Feanor: Get the hell away from numbers and power points, and start a writing career! Seriously, your style is great. If you wrote a book, I would definitely read it.
