Come tour Pakistan this summer!! Almost free!! :P

I would love to do a trip like this, sounds amazing. Oh and by the way I have been to many countries all around this world (including being born in West Africa). Don't let fear stop you from seeing someplace that you have never been before and learning about other cultures and peoples. When I lived in Indonesia people always asked if I was afraid for my safety. I can say that those 7 years I lived as an expatriate in Indonesia were some of the best in my life. Anybody thinking of doing this trip don't let the closed minded BARFers stand in your way. Good for you Khan for offering this opportunity to some lucky people, can't wait to see this pics and here the stories afterwords.

Where in west Africa? I just was backpacking there this summer.

Afghanistan and Pakistan are both Islamist countries, and drugs are part of the economy, even though Islam is anti-drug, anti-alcohol, etc. The Afghanis I dealt with smoked weed and laughed about not drinking. They won't drink in public, but behind their compound walls, according to them, it's party city.

I've thought of going to Cameroon as my next trip
 
Bit wary of traveling to many foreign countries with all the harassment and rape and all. It's a shame because all of them look so beautiful.

FWIW, I lived on various bases in Europe. The culture that one finds on or near a base is a far stretch from what real life is about in the host country.

I'm saddened by the judgmental, media based, bs I see spouted in this thread. Interestingly, when we rent motorcycles to folks from south America it is not unusual for them to ask "where is it safe?" apparently the USA is a scary place for travel, and it's likely you may get murdered here.

it takes a while to get the visa thats why we need to finalize the paper work soon and get the ball rolling.. Its pakistan so it might take up to 2 months getting the visa.

There are different Tribes up north. and each have their own different unique wines.. and Pakistan is anything but DRY.. all sorts of american beer and hard liquor is available.. and then theres Pakistani Beer Murree Brewery www.murreebrewery.com which a lot of foreigners prefer over anything else :thumbup
