Constitutional "Patch" Protection?

Discrimination is discrimination no matter who it's directed at. I won't refuse you a seat or service if I don't like your politics but I will tell you if I think your behaviour is inappropriate including passive provocation.
Noble, but I'd refuse service if you were dressed in a KKK or Nazi get up. You can call me names.

An accusation of trolling from a poster who turns pretty much everything into a "racial" issue? Are you serious?
There are loads of racism on BARF. I don't like racism. Yes, I am serious.

To say that one is "proud to be white" in a society where generations of people who were otherwise were told that they were less worthy, less able, less equal - is not just jaded, it's downright rude and insulting.
And let's remember the genocide of one people and the slavery of another. Proud of what, exactly?

But if I don't take your order I can't spit in your food. :laughing

Seriously, these people continue in their behaviour because no one ever confronts them. Once again we're talking about bullies. Standing up to bullies and calling them by name is the only way I know to show that the politics is only a means to the end of exercising power over others.

These rules (The Constitution & The Bill of Rights) exist to remind us of the right thing to do not when it is easy to do it but when everything moves us to do the wrong thing.

I won't be bullied into becoming a discriminator like the person doing the bullying. If I do then they truly win.

Despite the fact that none of my family emigrated to this country until after 1900 - and that all of them were considered non-white, practically non-human in their home countries - and came here to do the worst labor (coal mines, building trains) - and though I am possibly partly descended from a mixed-race great-grandparent - I am still responsible for the legacy of what "white" people did in the US.
I dig it. It's not my case, but I come from an old family with fairly well documented past; governors, writers and galleon captains among the most notable. There's indication the latter could've done some transportation of slaves from Africa. I don't feel responsible, but proud? Fuck no!

Original thread [is] about possible freedom of speech violations against motorcyclists who wanted to be able to wear 3-part patch in court buildings & whether such clothing should be defined as part of FOS
With moderation and taste, a lot of things can be done. We go to courtrooms to show support for cases against motorcyclists. We wear our moto jackets and carry our helmets. Everybody in the courtroom knows who we are and why we're there. But it's about being civil and tasteful. Some colours and patches aren't cool.

You really don't get it. At all. Probably never will.

Ah - continuing to prove you lack of courtesy and, perhaps - that you really are just trolling.

I guess that means I don't have to read anything that you write since you clearly just want to argue and harass, rather than actually discuss.

Argue and Harass? :rofl

The courtesy to debate ended with the above post. All you want to do to strengthen your position is to say that I am "trolling". You have your opinion. I have mine. You seem to have your mind made up so I don't feel the need to continue. Do you? Seems like you are trolling now.

n10sive, I'm not sure if you are being fatuous because you are trolling, or if you really fail to see the difference in what you suggest. By stating "Proud to be White" on a badge like that - you're branding yourself as incredibly insensitive, oblivious or just downright mean.

This isn't about "political correctness" - it's about acknowledging that there are things - mostly good - that are conferred upon you strictly on the basis of your physical appearance (skin color) rather than by your behavior or actions...
You lost me at "Through the work to bring materials from Women’s Studies into the rest of the curriculum, I have often noticed men’s unwillingness to grant that they are over-privileged, even though they may grant that women are disadvantaged" (the opening of the first link you posted).

All men are "A" and all women are "B" is not a solid basis for anything constructive. What do I have in common with a Kennedy or a Bush? Yet I am lumped in with them...

Rank prejudice, with a large helping of apologism on the side.

I am having patches of the constitution made up, and I am thinking of covering it with some sort of protective spray.

Had some time, just finished reading Jenn's other links.

All I have to say is that the National Socialist Party got a LOT of traction blaming one group for everyone else's ills, with just as much justification.

I guess people who are NOT apart of a club will NEVER understand what being in a club is all about. Yes there are some bad people in clubs but to put ALL of us in that same boat, well thats just stupid! I can't speak for all clubs but I can speak for mine! We are all about the ride, Our common ties to the Pacific, the Mana, we feed off eachother and the satisfaction of sharing with others!
