Cooking & Family Dinner - extinct? KFC Sucks!

i'd rather get a rotisserie whole chicken from costco for $5 than from kfc...

places like safeway and even walmarts are offering the same deals...

Good point Rotisserie chicken. We have one of those Ronco Rotisserie ovens. Its almost pointless DIY rotisserie chicken at the price the stores ask for a fully cooked one. It must be one of those Bring People in the Store items.

Not to mention for 2.99 you can be guaranteed it is the cheapest, mass produced, antibiotic and pesticide laden "food" money can buy. Then add the artificial flavorings, preservatives and sweeteners on top of that. :barf

Heh don't forget the eleven secret herbs and spices :party :laughing

Have to admit similar to eating asparagus. Post KFC chicken meal has a unique scent :green

Cause of the KFC Monday Special, we have Chicken most Mondays. Can't make this it at home for this price. Otherwise generally cook meals at home is the norm. One meal with one more day of leftovers.
However seen busy couples using Gourmet Meal delivery service for the family dinner each day. Only problem is the Kids have gotten real picky about their food when eating at others houses.
So many more options for heat and eat meals today. Can get frozen dinners for a few bucks, can't beat the value.

If you call a 2-piece meal a "meal". That's pretty weaksauce unless you're a tiny person.

Buy more then one :D Buy five $2.99 specials would get the more than the Family Feast bucket for $4 dollars less.

2nd Popeyes, unfortunately even the mild is too spicy for others. Once in while have to eat things that could kill ya. :laughing

My husband and I both cook, most times together. Taught my kids to cook, teaching my soon to be daughter in law how to cook as her mom only makes tv dinners for them. They do their chores and they don't get paid to do it, they do their own laundry have been since they were 10.

We have a home cooked meal every night except for pizza night. My girlfriends cook. Not sure where you are getting the women aren't cooking. We .99cent it at Jack once in awhile but mostly for lunch.

Out of all my friends maybe one or two of them don't cook and that is mostly because they are rich and go out to eat every night for expensive weird food :laughing

I think people do what they can afford, if eating out is cheaper then they do that. Me, I make a lot of food from scratch, heck I even do the hunting so I generally have a freezer full of food. It is cheaper for me to cook and that is the norm for my family and friends.

KFC is just trying to make it seem it is simple and easy and they will love. Good marketing. But realistically who can pay $30 for a single meal? I feed 8 every night.

Tonight I'm making breakfast for dinner, elk sausage, eggs, homemade biscuits and country style gravy that I will make from the sausage. We were all craving breakfast for dinner today :laughing

breakfast for dinner is the BEST!

This.

I grew up like this, too. We always had a big garden in the summer and were expected to help tend the garden, pick and process what we grew, whether that meant cleaning and bagging them for freezing or preparing them for dinner.

And this.

:laughing :facepalm You're a cute sensitive widdle fella arent you?

And we do cook a large number of our meals at home. However, I understand why some people do what they do. There are nights where both my wife and I are so wiped we don't want to do anything, but our son has to eat something, not going to let him skip a meal like I used to when I was too tired to do anything. However with us, we normally end up getting pho or pupusas, not KFC :p

The world must be coming to an end. Wazzo and Marlo just agreed on something.
I'll be in my bunker.
:laughing

Marlowe and I actually agree on a lot :laughing

[runs for cover from mind explosion fallout :twofinger]

Wife has dietary restrictions and I want the kids to eat healthy-I cook every meal for basically all of 'em. Sometimes the wife does it. I even cook for the fucking dog.

It's time consuming and utterly relentless-little people who are trying to double their body weight every few years eat more than I do.

I bought four pounds of hamburger on Saturday. It's all gone. So is the turkey and the chicken-I need to shop tonight to cook for the rest of the week so I can shop on Saturday again.

I can understand wanting to take a night off-I'm not sure what the big deal is.

The number of people my age that do not know how to cook beyond stuffing something in the microwave.

Since I started working night shift.. I don't do much cooking anymore which is bad. I just dislike cooking for 1 person and it's harder/more expensive.
:(

OP, Pro Tip: Arrange your first dates at a KFC, then you can tell if she likes you for you or if she's just into you for your Mad Bank!
