Dear Speed channel

because 1 of Rupert's hands {SpeedTV} duzn't know or care about what Rupert's other hand {FOX} is doing

I laugh at the part where if they arn't showing NasCar They have a show talking about it. And who the hell cares what they eat NASCAR chef...one word for that show FAIL!! OH wait I forgot what about that fucking stupid show FAST TRACK TO FAME. Who ever is the programing director should be fired. Or, I know strap him to a chair, tape his eyes open and make hime whatch Speed Channel none stop till his brain rotts. Momma allways said TV rotts your Brain. Now I know she had to be talking about the SPEED CHANNEL.

Thanks for the link.

It's funny how he contradicts himself..

Considering that it’s being aired live, how are you able to do that kind of editing?
It’s completely and utterly live. Remember, we also do BBC, we’ve done the Australian coverage, all of Africa, all of Asia—all these places—so we still have to cater for all those as well....

What happens if something important happens while you’re away?
It’s live with a five-minute delay, so that we can get that info in at the beginning—it’s as live as it can be. Instead of having 100 percent of the race action [which is paused during ads], you have ads interspersed in amongst it, then interviews at the beginning. The races are only forty to forty-five minutes long, so we start ten minutes late after running the interviews or whatever. If they miss something important, there’s a replay option they can use. Greg Creamer, who’s presenting it in the States—in the studio in Charlotte—can say, “This is what happened while we were away.”

Just in case anybody thought that 'lorentho' was the actual correct way to pronounce it, here it is from the horses mouth. This should put the whole subject to bed and show was an idiot the commentator is. :x

I already sent them a strongly worded email once complaining about that dude and his CONSTANT mispronunciation of more than just Lorenzo's name. There was a race recently where he even mispronounced the name of the bay or city or... something I don't remember. So freakin' annoying. Dude needs to just go back to NASCAR and leave the real sports to people that understand what the hell is going on outside of the deep south.

Dear Speed:

Why the FUCK are you buttwipes showing Czech Superbike race 1 at the same time Fox is showing F1 Silverstone this Sunday?

I have gotten to the point where I just use the favorites on my HTPC to remind me when races are coming up then I just download the Eurosport coverage. I even set them as watched when I start downloading so there isn't a chance they even get the ratings for my viewing their drivel! I can't stand the crap Murdock is feeding us any longer. Too much fluff without real substance.

The thread that I started in their own forum has had a fair amount of comments added to it. :teeth

so, Kurosaki,

please let us in on how to duplicate your enviable success with Euro downloads

If I had more racing underground invites I would give them out. (Or maybe auction it to the highest bidder?:twofinger)

I had 2, gave those out and never got anymore. That was like a year ago.

BUT

If it would be wanted and beneficial to the masses of barfage, I (or somebody else) could have a thread and post torrents for the good of the general public.

You don't have to be a member of Racing underground to use their torrents if you can get them from somebody.

So, if people ask nicely, I may be bothered to put up the torrents for SBK and GP so others can enjoy who are not fortunate enough to have an RU account.

Relying on speedtv is painful. I'll try to ease that pain a little and be a pal.:p

Kurosaki. Not to be an ass, and I am being slightly hipocritical and yes, dorna makes a LOT of money, but...

A motogp.com subscription is not that much, and is a legal way to get great race coverage at a reasonable price. Sure they are lacking in package offerings, and some other things, but it's pretty damn good (from what I hear/read and the little I've seen.) Stealing content via ru and other sites does deprive the content providers a bit, and we should pay some respect to those providers that have a decent and legal distribution system imho.

Anyway, g/l, and have fun! Sorry to be the nancy about piracy.

Why does the phrase 'A little bit pregnant' keep running through my mind?

I can imagine, but I've gotten to hate speed so much I won't even load their forums and increase their hit count! :x

Not to be anymore of an ass and not to be offensive to you but fuck the subscription. Dorna can shove their pay content up their badonkadonk.:party

If I wasn't using RU, it's not like I would resort to paying for motogp.com as my next choice and they would then be making money off me if not for racing underground. I would just relegate myself to watching speedtv. (I still have speed so I'm still supporting the race broadcast "man".) And I'd be up in arms with the rest of you about the offensively poor broadcasts and overall channel quality.

Eurosport is not available here so it's not like I'm stealing from eurosport either since I couldn't pay for their channel even if I wanted to. And believe me, if I could call up direcTV and tell them to add the eurosport channels, I would do it in a hot minute and forget RU and torrents.

Fair enough. :thumbup

Yah, I don't like paying for speed on dtv it's totally way too expensive imho.

I've paid for SpeedTV for over 10 years... when i signed up, i used to watch WRC, MotoGP, F1, Touring Car, WSBK, etc etc...
over the years, they went from 2 hours of coverage of WRC during a race weekend, to 30 minutes to no coverage at all
they've pretty much dropped Touring Cars
F1 coverage is the ONLY thing that's worth a damn
MotoGP has been tape delayed with abysmal race coverage...

now I understand that NASCAR pays the bills, fine, 2 hours pre-race, race coverage, then 2 more hours of post race, for every nascar series is great for nascar fans, not going to knock it because that's what i'd love to see for series i like to watch...

but now i'm paying for excellent shows like Pass Time, Nascar Chef, Nascars Got Talent Search, Dangerous Drives... additionally, during the last F1 race on FOX, they cut the post race interviews for the super important Oreck vacuum infomercial...

so for the money I pay, the only thing I watch on Speed is F1...
they want me to be loyal and not pirate stuff off the Euro channels, give me practice with real announcers, give me qualifying, give me real race coverage... until then, i'll be downloading and uploading races i watch, and the sad part, i can watch most races before Speed shows it even though i have to download it...

Dear Speed Channel,
When showing an American race, and raving about how 4 of the riders are 'Mericans, and talking about how wonderful it is to have a GP here in 'Merica...

Don't cut for commercials at 9 laps to go, and come back at 5 laps to go!

Especially when you miss one said 'Merican doing something that blows his chances at a pass! We won't even bother discussing the fact that Some European crashed out, and we couldn't bother mentioning when or where (let alone replaying it) during the same break. :p

THIS. Speed Channel blows. :thumbdown

but didn't you love the 10 minutes of build up before the race, surely that was worth missing exciting race action.

it traditional - Assen races have always been on Saturdays. MotoGP, World SBK.

Exactly. Assen (aka "The Cathedral") is the oldest venue on the MotoGP calendar. It's been a yearly race since the beginning of GP racing ...and always on a Saturday.

Just for the record, I don't care that it was on a saturday at 6 am so much as I care that the replays weren't timely. I also still feel good about canceling my service. :thumbup

You mean the 10 minutes of build up, that would have been an hour if it had been a NASCAR race? Followed by a half hour of post race interviews? Um... no. :twofinger

That's it, I'm packing and moving to Europe! I can get cooler bikes there anyway! :laughing
