Die Apple Die

Vastly inferior product, done exploded on you. Copying Apple again, no headphone jack on the upcoming Samsung S8. :laughing

Incorrect. You see, Samsung doesn't have the worst software ever, which is all Apple Operating systems, therefore, WINS. Aside form the fact that Android machines routinely outperform Apple, which has never been an innovator.

So awesome that this thread is different from all the other Apple bashing threads.

Hmmm. Before the iPhone, we were using things like this:

Then this came along...

And now we have this:

While the concept of a smart phone wasn't an Apple original, the implementation was. Now everybody and his dog makes a phone that tries to look as much like an iPhone as possible.

I don't go through phones the way some people do, but I've had phones running the major phone OS's over the years. They all have their strengths. I don't find iOS perfect but it makes for a pretty decent electronic Swiss Army Knife.

You are so wrong. Before the iPhone existed I had a touch screen Windows phone with a stylus, and slide out full QWERTY, running Windows Mobile 5, MS Excel and Word with a Powerpoint viewing Application, and functioning Internet Explorer (although Cell Network was slow). Windows started this shit like 4 YEARS before Apple, just like Tablet Computers.

Let me break it down for you how this all works now:

Microsoft innovates a new tech product that everyone will need, but they are too far ahead of their time and can't figure out how to sell it, because they are super vision strong and super sales stupid.

Apple waits till all the hard R&D has been done and makes their version with a polish to sell to the tech dumb and makes a mint, because they have no creativity, but are sleazy masters of sales and marketing.

Google follows the money model that Apple used to get rich off Microsoft by building a better tool that real people actually want to use at a more competitive price, because all they really care about is getting the tech out there, so they can continue to build their nightmarish world domination databases.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

couldn't agree more.

Everyone knows that any iPhone will work perfectly if you fondle it while standing in the line of your choice.

iPhone is even more powerful than you realize....stuck at a red light? Begin to send a text and POOF the light will turn green instantly which activates the horn from the car behind you.

I'm a fan of Android and Apple products. We live in a pretty unbelievable age, and we have powerful computers that fit in our pockets. Additionally, these computers can also take excellent photographs and video, as well as communicate with other devices over the internet. Step back, look at the broader picture, and it's hard to say that any of the modern flagship smart phones is significantly better or worse than its competitors.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on there. No reasonable replies are allowed in these threads. You have to pick one side and disparage the other.

That would explain why the iPhone 7 and Google Pixel are priced exactly the same. They look almost identical too.

Android is significantly better than iOS in terms of functionality and user experience.

Right? Although that thing is really not comparable to the Windows phone I was using in the above example. My point was that the windows phone I was using like 3 years before the iPhone came out was MORE feature rich than the iPhone was. Did I mentioned it used a standard USB cable to charge and I could use it as USB storage for transferring files?

I think Apple STILL cannot be used in that way, correct?

Units sold: 50,000

iPhones sold: 1 billion +

That is a losing argument. iPhone sales have been dwarfed by Android sales for years now.

I don't really feel that is the case. In any typical build cycle, you can usually find a laundry list of things that Android Devices can do that Apple devices cannot. Use a standard headphone jack and use the device as external storage for the transfer of files across devices are some fun ones right off the bat. Also, there was the long running Flash issue, that is at this point becoming obsolete. The fundamental problem with all Apple products is their, "Walled Garden," model of software development, which is inferior by default, because it limits choices. It is honestly the same thinking that killed them in the war with Microsoft when desktop was first developing and it killed them in the smartphone marketshare war with Google. Attempts to control your userbase will always result in the user base rejecting you.

how about when you compare each to a rotary dial landline ?

Basically. You can transfer things in a very limited way, but it's a closed system. Apple doesn't seem to see their phones as external storage for your computer.

On the subject of innovation, Microsoft didn't originate the idea of the smart phone either. What Apple did do is create the market after a few others got nowhere and suddenly everyone else wants to make phones that look like theirs and whose UI at least superficially resembles theirs.

For all the benefits of the openness of Android, there is also the aggravation of getting OS updates late or never, determined by your carrier. I've found that the Apple products I've had will accept upgrades for a longer period than The Android devices I've had.

In the end, I've decided that my phone isn't one of my hobbies. The iPhone doesn't require a lot of tinkering and there are applications available for it that there are not great alternatives for on other platforms. I've liked Android too, but as a communications tool that needs to work reliably, my iPhone has been better than anything I've had prior to it. YMMV.

Step up your dongle game bruh.

My experiences with the iphone 7, a couple of my friends have them. The few times I've been in the car with them they have to run back to grab the dongle because they forgot it. My girlfriend has one of those waterproof cases on her iphone 6 that requires a dongle to plug in headphones, guess what, she never has it when she needs it.

"Why bitch about it, they give you one for free!" Oh boy, I have never lost a tiny piece of string sized thing before. Oh crap! I left the dongle attached to my headphones at home! SOL now I guess. I would love to plug it in to charge in my car while driving AND listen to music, whoops! Need a special dongle for that too!

Fuck that. Oh and Samsung is going to fail HARD with the S8, because we have choices with Android.
