Do You Mountain Bike?

Lisa wants to pre-ride the XC course at some point - it'll determine whether or not she enters. So at some point, we're doing it :)

I know one gal on MTBR is gonna try to pre-ride it this weekend, I'm waiting to read her report on it.

lemmie know what you hear about the xc (aka my demise) im waiting o na headset then my bike will be ready to go, and we can go prerideeeee

Felt pretty proud for myself hitting this today, I know its not that big of a deal but it was scary as shit looking down from the top :laughing (top of China Camp)
Good job :thumbup
I used to ride C-Camp all the time. Took me a while before I'd go down that thing. Looks scary as hell from the top, don't it :wow

It's an 07 Specialized enduro SL.
Used or new ?
I thought you didn't like the Endure SL ? :wtf

I chickened out like 6 times before I finally dropped it :laughing it really was the mental challenge of the visual drop looking down from the top like you mentioned. I knew if I didn't do it I'd regret it though, and it was too good of a photo opp to pass up :teeth

I'm still taking it easy on DH stuff though, trying to keep it smooth and let the speed catch up later

RIPPERS! (heard roxy killed it. good job!)

there was a clicking sound coming from the front end...:wtf

im not gunna look at the trail, but fixate on my wheel. haha.

anyone wanna ride tuesday? i have a new bike thats itching for some miles.

I can see why everyone wants the wide tires and full travel specific to do this. You just need the bike to float over everything smoothly I would imagine without losing grip. Although from those shots I suppose the race trails are fairly smooth?

ya, not much of an actual DH track.

Definitely more of an all mtn / fast xc course.

In the strip of pix in the previous post look at the #2 pic. That's what we call a MOTE (MOJOR OFF TRACK EXCURSION) Figures the photographer was right there to catch that cluster F@#$. On the bright side, I did not hit the ground :teeth

Ah, I thought you were taking a short cut :) How'd that Mutano front work out for ya?

With the Wildflower triathlon behind me, it's time to hit the trails :) Although as bad as I hurt myself yesterday, it might be a couple of weeks...

So what happened?

how did you like the enduro ryan? getting rid of the spec over dampened shock?

quick n* teaser to get us ready for summer. oh baby

Nice vid. Can't wait for N*!!!

I'm still getting the new bike all sorted out. there are a bunch of little odds n' ends to deal with but the biggest problem right now is that the cross piece on the rocker arm hits the frame at the top of the shock travel (its mounted in high BB).

Did your bike ever do that? Also, were you running the shock in the high or low position?

I am really liking the geometry of the high BB and fork cranked down to 4" of travel. I just hope i can find a way to get the suspension working a bit better. I was expecting a huge improvement in traction over the epic, but not really seeing that at all yet... just gotta keep tweaking it i guess, maybe eventually a new shock, who knows.

shit dude, what happened?

I took a pretty good slammer on chapparal yesterday, but got lucky and came out with only a couple little scrapes and bruises.

hope yer okay.

i never ran it in the higher bb position, so can't help ya there. never use the travel adjust either, haha, got the front to low for my huge ass. whats not to like about that amazing specialized afr shock? leaking oil? over dampened? try a fox float. then it will hook up :thumbup
