Do you wear a watch?

All watches are right at least twice a day. :teeth

Only if it is stopped. One that is running five seconds a day fast will be right again eventually, but I haven't been able to do the math required to tell you how freqently in over twenty years. :afm199

Oh, yeah, :laughing. :loco

More than you can say for a lot of real Rolex watches.

I'm not going to say how many Rolex I've had or currently have except to say I could be an expert opinion and they tell time more accurately than any other automatic watch I've owned, the one exception being both my Luminox which, though a little fast if kept on a winder and not worn, are easily as accurate.

I'd not disagree with that. I love the artistry of watchmaking and I've worn nothing but mechanical watches for quite a while. My point (if any) was that even the best of them aren't 100% accurate.

Yes but the electrics are darn good. Do you want art or to tell the time? Being an engineer I mostly want accurate time.

A Seiko kinetic is the best of both worlds. Quartz accuracy and mechanical recharging. I don't have a kinetic, but I have a lovely Seiko quartz that's the perfect watch for work. Looks classy, it's light and thin, and it's dead on balls accurate. Oh, and it was $89.

My youngest nephew talked me into giving up one of the artifacts from my childhood. Popped a new battery in and it fired right up!

What kind of car do you drive?

Because that is kind of the whole point, to showcase a little status with a time piece. Something that is $1000+ kind of shows you're making a different statement than an $89 Seiko..

Guess what just arrived today? :teeth

Coming from someone who leases a Prius but owns an A Lange & Sohne, that's an interesting question. FWIW I drive an Accord. FWIW, I also own a Nomos Metro, but don't feel I need to make a statement about coveting shiny pretty things everywhere I go.

EDIT: I should add that I have a job where I have to use my hands. If it wasn't that way, then maybe I'd wear the Nomos at work.

Careful! The Prius has been replaced. :laughing

There is something to be said about having a watch that's is $20k and people know what you do for a living, that it might be unlikely you could ever afford that type of purchase. Or if you could, why would you if you made $50k or something.. Know what I mean?

Would be even funnier if ultra wealthy people wore fakes. No one would even question it!

I got my Omega used from Nucking Futz. Works for me. *shrug*
