Do you wear a watch?

Wearing a watch that costs tens so thousands of dollars as a status symbol seems silly. If you like it and it brings a smile to your face, then good for you.

A Seiko kinetic is the best of both worlds. Quartz accuracy and mechanical recharging. I don't have a kinetic, but I have a lovely Seiko quartz that's the perfect watch for work. Looks classy, it's light and thin, and it's dead on balls accurate. Oh, and it was $89.

I need...

Seriously considering selling my daily-driver '97 GMT and picking up a new no-date Sub. I'd just keep the GMT but seeing it sitting on a winder instead of living out in the wild as intended would crush my soul a little bit.

That should cover a woman's Omega :)

I looooove watches but my most expensive is my Quartz Omega which cost me under $1000.00. One day when I don't have a mortgage..

Incidentally I'd keep my bike over any watch.

Nice piece. I've been thinking about changing up my daily driver for a little while as well. Problem is I love my Sub so much. It's like a part of me. Its getting serviced right now and I'm wearing another watch out of my collection that I like but its just not my every day watch. Tough choices...which Rolex to wear?...cry me a river.

I've had impress myself as I'm important Tag, a couple Rolex and two Breitlings. Honestly I simply got sick and tired of sending the frickin junk to some unknown location then wait months for repairs and anticipating the sword of Damocles bill akin to a mortgage payment. To prolong the magic I became hyper vigilant to not do anything to anger the watch. I gladly peddled those exercises in Euro boutique marketing.

I bought one of those Seiko aviator watches which ran fine for ~10 years. But as time goes on I couldn't read the nifty little twisty dial calculator functions without readers. That one is in my dresser drawer and in general I went fuck it ima luddite mode.

I look at the cell phone and I'm good to go.

Guess I'll be adding to my meager collection. Said I wasn't gonna get one in the other thread, but the lady got me the Jesus Watch for my birthday. Anyone else drink the kool aid? Of course I won't have it till June....so that was kind of anticlimactic.

A questionable choice of a brown strap tho. The original is on the left. Tis' Titanuum, all of it!!

I like that one a lot Beau. Nice clean classic look.

I think that new Apple Watch commercial is such a double edge sword. On the one hand I think it's a masterfully produced spot, showing all the different ways it can be used in daily life. Even got me interested in the product, and I'm not an Apple fanboy. On the other hand, the watch itself just looks awful, especially on the thin wristed women in the ad. It really is an ugly watch.

I have a Pebble Steel now and debating Apple Watch and upcoming Pebble Time Steel. I like convenience of a smart watch as I'm constantly getting emails, calls and texts from my suppliers.

I stopped wearing a watch when I bought my current moto, and went bike only. To much interference with the aerostich cuffs. I still have that watch I wore every single moment for 20 years though. A simple digital Timex that I tortured when I worked with some temperature stress chambers. I can honestly say that watch went though environmental conditions that would have killed the person wearing it.

These days, I like the idea of pocket watches, but have to many other things I would spend my money on first. Not sure if I'll ever go back to a wristwatch.

I always wear a watch since I was 13yo or so. Feel naked without it.

Yes. Always. What type depends on the day and use. In no particular order:

Luminox
Swiss Army
Invicta
Rolex
