Eerily accurate quiz about your American dialect

I'd say "the city" for SF if it were in context, that is, relative to Marin, the Peninsula, or the East Bay. But outside of the Bay Area "The City" will always mean "New York City" to me.

Agreed. I think it's probably relative to what the closest major metropolitan area was to you. I grew up in CT, so "the city" was NYC. I think most folks in the Boston area consider NYC the city too, but I'm not 100% sure.

Not really that accurate for me, but I've spent 30 years of my life in Ohio and 15 in California. It had me in Iowa.

It had me pegged at Stocton/Modesto (not sure the difference between the two, dialectially speaking) and, also: Albuquerque. Not sure where that one came from as I drove thru NM once when I was fleeing New Jersey, but that's about it...

Considering I have family roots in Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, and New Mexico, and I live in CA. It putting me in Chandler, AZ. Was well, comical.

Spot on for me, it said Detroit. I think devils night question is a dead giveaway for Detroit.

LOL, mine said Albuquerque and Honolulu, which is funny because I've never been to HI and never lived in New Mexico, but I'm not surprised. Being a guy from New York that was mainly raised in California and spent lot of time in Texas and the South who likes to use British pronunciations of words with an American Accent, I figured I'd fuck that test up, lol. I speak weird English.
