Extremely new rider

How are you liking the CBR so far @Jared_ ? Does your gf ride too, or does she only backpack? :ride
It's been good! I've been practicing going around the city, and last weekend I did a bit of a ride down skyline to Westborough (primarily because I got lost haha). Nearly lost control of the bike though going down some twisties--I'm definitely not experienced enough yet to do downhill+turns. Lost attention during one of the last turns, fixated on a wall, nearly went into the wall 🙃

As for my girlfriend, she's also going to be riding on her own (no backpack for her!). Just trying to get the money for a second bike so we can ride together eventually.

I'll include a picture of me down in Pacifica, and one with the road that nearly got me lol

Awesome! Love the pic and I'm excited for you to get out there and explore more for fun and not just commuting. It'll be fun for your gf to get her own bike too! Does she already have her license? You guys are gonna have such good times together :love

Saturday I took my spouse over 84 through La Honda to some beaches near Pescadero for a little picnic and tidepool wandering. The drive was super fun even in a car, I might do that route or similar on my next weekend ride. There were lots of bikes and fancy cars out that day, it was beautiful. Baymotophoto was out there snappin pics

We both have our license, just waiting on the money and the right bike 😅. I'm debating getting something new for a second bike, but that'll be way down the line. Maybe if I find a decent R3, I'll pick it up for myself since I'm not opposed to smaller bikes (the CBR was mostly to my girlfriend's specifications rather than my own lol, I think I can get away with an R3 if I can find one for a good price that doesn't sketch me the hell out).

Welcome to barf! I'm new here myself
Hopefully your DMV experience didn't take too long

Target fixation is a huge thing for new riders, just try to remember alway look where you want to go, and the bike is far more capable than you think it is in regards to turns

Hi! I'm a new... Rider? Soon to be rider? Up here in SF. Started looking into a bike to skip the traffic during my commute.

Joined this forum while on my search for my first starter bike. Took the MSF a month ago now, and am scared I'll lose whatever little skill I had to begin with. Hoping to ride soon! Until then, I'm just browsing around and hoping to learn something from riders in the area.

(Also does anyone know how long the motorcycle license test takes? And I mean from walking in the door to leaving--I'm terrified I'll be stuck there for like 3 hours)
Hey! my boyfriend is in the same boat! He just got a new bike and is also new to riding! If your down to do practice with him, lmk!

Aight bet, we're still trying to get the details fleshed out, but it'll be near Sunnyvale on October 19. Is he comfortable making it there?

Ye, but low-key I wouldn't post it on here lol, it's a public forum.

Also that should be a pretty easy ride for him then--I can grab him on the way to Sunnyvale if he's able to join. Are you gonna be riding as well?

nope I don't ride, i'm too scared to get into an accident. You can add our ig, mine is hellostargirl and his is crav.2.sheisty
Sounds good, I'll reach out if I need to get a hold of y'all for whatever reason

Welcome Gen Zs!! Great having you here! Looking forward to meeting y’all and passing the torch!

Super cool to have some young blood feeling the 2 wheel vibe that became a life long passion for some of us old bloods.

Really hope you stick with the barf and draw in others.

:ride with a :teeth
