In Filipino culture, it's actually perfectly acceptable to see two male friends holding hands. I haven't been back in about a decade, but I don't think that's changed. Personally I find it a bit fruity but that's because I grew up in US.

I don't know, it's just something I observed the last time I was there. I saw it more with teenagers and kids, don't recall seeing adults holding hands, it was a sign of friendship. Either way, I still think it's a bit fruity.
