Flight Attendants

Nothing pisses me off more than cross dressing sky waitresses.:mad
 
no offense to troy - have never met him, but am sure he is a delight. that said, airlines give their perks (including upgrades) on 'priority' basis. it has little to do with your behavior, and everything to do with how much business you bring the airline. my SO is global services. they get the top priority. standing in line with him once there, will never forget striking up a conversation with another global services traveler - he was like - yeah, they treat you awesome, but you have to live half your life on a plane to get it. living a large part of your life in the air and away from home sucks. and it's a fucked up way to get a decent seat and good service.

Good to know- I won't hold my breath for an upgrade! :laughing But I can honestly say I've always received good service whenever I've flown, but I also make sure I'm friendly towards the FA's. Too many grumpy people and screaming babies... I figure they can use a smile! And it's certainly made flying as enjoyable as possible for me! :)
 
My bigger priority on an airplane is getting to sleep, as fast and as long as long as possible. If I'm asleep before the wheels leave the ground, well that was a damn good flight.

I will always remember the small twinge of joy that I felt when I looked down at my flight ticket and saw that I had completely lost all status with the airlines. Three cheers for boarding group 5.

None taken. I was trying to make two points with my post.

#1 I have both more total experience and more recent experience than the OP on United Airlines. I.E. I am a current 1K member reflecting my automatic upgrades.

#2 What Connie touched on, that being polite to others, often times returns such behavior to you. I.E. I had to 1st fly 100,000 miles (mostly economy) in a calender year to reach that preferred status. I managed to do so without the same horrible experience the OP had. I have flown the same airline as the OP. I have even flown the same route as the OP (SFO to Thailand) yet have had a very different experience. I don't extend into the walkway and I don't have an underlying aggression while on the plane.

You seem to like to discredit anything I have to say even if you have no experience to come at me with. But hey, makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy to be on the bandwagon right?

You on the other hand, I recognize that you fly more than me. But perhaps your experience is so much different because you get upgraded more often? I wouldn't have a bad word to say either if that was my case. I don't see how its so difficult to acknowledge my horrible experience with fat assed FA's bumping into me when I'm trying to sleep, with my body position straight no less. Why would that be my fault? If I were really out of line being in the aisle too much they would most certainly ask me to check myself. Like I said, one small part of my body being extended out past the aisle handrest does not constitute deserving of being bumped into every time. Then again, not a problem you would have in Business or First right?

I hate like hell flying coach and sitting next to some muscle bound, gym rat, who takes up both arm rests and over flows into my seating area.
 
I really do hate a 14 hour flight next to someone large who thinks overhanging just an inch is OK. It can get to be excruciating.
I am really OK pointing out to the OP the hypocrisy in his complaint.

I always try to book my seat without anyone sitting in the middle next to me, if they book their seat next to me while there are many empty seats that is their fault and stupidity.

Yes, because booking last minute is usually a choice (particulary for work travel), and they should really know that there's an ape in the aisle seat. What are they thinking, right? :rolleyes
