Ford Maverick

I’ve seen one on the street in the grey color. And saw a few at SEMA. Looks great in person. If I were in the market for a not really a truck kinda truck, I think I might go with this over a Ridgeline.

Disappointed with the rear seat not folding like the F-150 does and not having the flat floor, but my Ranger had the same problem too.

I would take a new hybrid Maverick over a same priced used Ridgeline.

The hybrid Maverick would be both the family economy car & the family moto hauler. I bought a used wagon recently, but had I been able to buy a new hybrid Maverick at MSRP, I think I would have done that.

Besides being the worst hand-talker in existence and enunciating the phrase "quirks and features" to the nth degree?

Yup. If you go on his auction site carsandbids.com you’ll see every description of a listing starts with that “This!”

That FWD hybrid Maverick is looking real nice with these gas prices..

Seems like they have some issue with production though and they are unobtanium. Hopefully they add a AWD & plugin option next year for that motor.

Did anyone here end up buying one?

Still not a fan of the tiny bed but with these gas prices, I may have to make it work.

My Ranger failed smog the other day. Looks like I may have to retire it.

I've only seen one in the wild, but it looked pretty good to be honest.

The bed is 4.5 ft vs a Ranger which starts at 5.

Dunno if that's with the gate down.

They're a dime-a-dozen here (strangely) so I've had multiple opportunities to look at them up close. They look so small compared to even a modern Ranger, but ultimately that's the point. I'm fairly certain that the 4.5" measurement is with the gate up as I don't think Ford posts "gate down" measurements in their regular specs. Reviews seem positive as long as people are realistic in what they're buying and not expecting something other than a small vehicle with a unibody design concept. I've yet to drive one, but even larger folks seem to be fine with the front seats by themselves.

My Ranger has a 6ft bed, but I almost never carry stuff with the tailgate down.

The 1500lb bed capacity of the Maverick is ok for me, although I've carried more in my Ranger with helper springs in that back, but I can make that work. It appears that with a bed extender you also get 6ft which is good enough. Can carry two dirtbikes.

The real allure for me is price and fuel economy. Would be nice if the AWD came with the hybrid but honestly FWD should be fine for me.

I think for the vast majority of people, FWD is fine. There's a rumor that Ford intends on adding the AWD capability to the hybrid powertrain, but it's still in the works. However, from my experience here and from what I've read, just finding one with the hybrid powertrain in it is almost a miracle anymore. You basically have to order it as they disappear from the lots almost as quickly as they show up.

My coworker got one coming within next week or 2, another person has one at work.

I will repeat myself, this is the new Prius once everyone and their mom knows about it, 42mpg and can lug crap in the bed.

I was actually going to order 1 for my dad last year but helped a family friend buy a Lexus and he gifted his car to my Dad.

I shoulda just placed the order - got it and flipped it right away for 5k+ ez

Yes it appears the wait time for hybrid is over a year out.. :wow
