Ford Maverick

My 2004 Explorer XLT Sport, 1999 XLT F-150 and 2001 XLT F-150 didn't come with cruise control from the factory either. It wasn't an abnormal thing to not have it on XLTs until more recently.

Wtf, my 95 Ranger XLT has cruise, ac, power locks/windows and keyfob. It's also the "base" XLT with RWD and manual tranny.

Back in the day, Ford used to offer like six or seven different levels of trim within the XLT series alone. These days, it's maybe three.

I HAVE a '99 F-150 with no cruise control!!! :love

No cruise control, but mine is a manual transmission.

All of my F-150s before 2012 had a manual transmission. I used to love being able to get a 4.6 V8 with a manual transmission...the bygone days...

I don't understand how Ford has fucked up the Bronco full size release so bad, yet can somehow make NEW vehicles and roll them out.

Makes you wonder how these companies are in business still.

Also, makes sense to keep making more trucks and SUV's. Cars dont stand a chance with these decaying roads we're stuck with.

This looks better and better every day. Not to me, per se, but I can absolutely see a demographic attracted to this vehicle.

The bed is a 1/2 foot short of the Ranger.

it's lower. It's a "city" truck. Well, turns out lots of folks live in cities, and ground clearance is not a primary requirement.

The lower profile and smaller frontal area no doubt contribute to its efficiency.

it's designed for shorter people. We have a lot of shorter people.

One of my favorite features of my Jeep GC is the air suspension that lowers when we park. It's noticeably much easier for my wife to get in and out of it. So, we park, and we sit and wait the few seconds for it to lower. I imagine she's not alone.

This goes even farther. Look how low the bed rails are. It's no doubt much easier for folks to access that rear bed casually.

And then, the bed itself is really clever.

Lots of design in this thing.

I mean, I guess. It weighs a lot less but the dimensions aren't drastically different. Less than a foot of oal, 5 inches of wheelbase. Cargo and passenger capacity are similar. The Ford sure kills it in fuel economy with the hybrid setup though :thumbup

The Ranger is far more similar in size and scope to the Ridgeline than the Maverick. The Maverick is more along the lines of an earlier generation Tacoma (early 2000s) or the outgoing generation of the Frontier.

Why is this any better than the Subaru Baja or Ford Explorer Sport Trac? Looks similar in size and nobody bought those trucks.

Because neither the Baja nor the Sport Trac have been manufactured since 2006 and 2010 respectively. The Sport Trac did well early on, but competition came in and pushed it out. I won't opine on the Baja...I think it speaks for itself. :green

This is the cheapest hybrid car/truck/vehicle you can buy 40mpg msrp under 20k

This will change the market insert Charles Barkley guarantee eed here

Anyone want a 2021 Bronco Sport with 8K miles in perfect cond @ my cost ($36K)? Ugh...
