Nice. If I didn't have the Vonkat TenFive I would try to go with the EXT Arma on the Light Bee. Is the stock rear shock really that bad that you are going to upgrade it?
The largest recommended spring for that stock shock is a 550. I need something heavier, which is not recommended on the stock shock. I want a properly sprung bike. I'm redoing the front forks as well...why not.
They're nice looking, but for the price, it makes me wonder if there's anything from ohlins that people are fitting up?
Yeah, that kid was ripping! Looking forward to your comparison report on the shock. Do you have the bike yet?
Didn't see any Ohlins options...I've always run Ohlins or Penske on my bikes.
This video sold me tho! LOL![]()

Admittedly, it won't be much of a comparison, having gone from stock...riding down the block and over neighborhood speed bumps a few times...to completely upgraded but I'll do my best. More than happy to let you ride it when it's done.
Yes, I have the bike. Bought it off a friend of a friend. Going through it and freshening it up now, making it my own.

Don't think I like those guys very much, but they built a sweet bike. This video was a better sell for me...

Your bike looks good, I'm digging the tall guy mods. What size rear tire are you running? Looks like a proper 250F size tire, which was something I've been wondering about, because I don't think I like whatever the stock tire size for this bike.
Thanks...
KKE 21/18
80/100/21
110/100/18
Michelin Starcross 6's, med/soft's on there now.
One also has to consider that the fatter tire setup likely affects range....may go to a 100/100 rear next.
Yeah, saw that video as well...and what a nicely built UB.
I like those Charged Cycle Works guys for sure, after watching a handful of their videos.
I would have bought the suspension from them, if they offered all the same suspension builds as ECR.
Why the dislike of ECR?
The first video I was exposed to from CCW was the Arctic Leopard Cheetah E·XE880 unboxing and it seemed bought-and-paid-for. The bike is obviously subpar to Japanese and Austrian products, but they were going full salesman on it. The parts situation with this company is also a joke. You have to email a guy and describe what you need. At least with Surron you can find some shitty exploded views on small-fry websites to maybe find parts, if they're in stock. With that said, I'm kinda horny for an UB and I like this modded bike a lot.
LOL, got it. While I saw that too...I look past that and evaluate things on my own. For that matter, all outfits usually go full salesman on something.
After all, they're all ultimately...salesmen.
I have a full exploded diagram and list of literally every part for the UB. For OEM parts, I figured I'd be able to buy direct from Surron? Just bought some new plastics directly from Surron...

I've been into dirt bikes and mx since 1988 and am able to do the same, which is how I know the bike is at least partially a pos, but others might not know that and see their glowing reviews and drop $12k on tears and heartbreak. As basically a lifetime dirt enthusiast, I've seen the frustration of the learning curve break many people and it sucks because they miss out on so much fun, they just need a little help with the pitfalls. The last thing they need are shortsighted predatorial salesmen pushing junk. Even worse is when those salesman are riders doing it to their own kind with big ol' cheshire cat smiles. No likey. Much pukey. Groin kickey.
Surron isn't awesome, but they're doing much better than Cold Meow Kitty on the parts side. Cold Meow Kitty has a "service" section on their website that goes to nothing. I've been testing it out and had to message through a generic email on the website, which then kicked it off to a sales rep and have been going back and forth. Honestly I just feel bad for that guy, being the single point of contact having to work with such a shitty manufacturer that they can't even be bothered to put up some exploded views on the website to help people at least find the part numbers of what they need. They're a newer company, but one model has been in the field for 1-2 years and they've done nothing for customer support in that time.
This new wave of e-bikes is very exciting, but with it comes a cesspool of...cess. Same with the aftermarket. A lot of these parts are oddly made, much closer to something you'd buy for your RC car on eBay, than something you'd buy at Rocky Mountain. It's going to be a more difficult maze for new riders to navigate, a maze which requires the absence of a calculator, lest you discover you've spent more than a new 500EXC on a bin full of purple anodized eBay stuff.
Anyway, something I remember about the Volcanduro VE33/35 tires is that one is much better/worse than the other. I think it's the front that's worse and the rear is good.
