GaryJ Celebration of Life Gathering-Sunday June 10, 2012

DSC05042.JPG

I rode past this scene on my way home yesterday. I was coming from another memorial in San Luis Obisbo for a friend of mine who also died in a MC accident.

Nice tribute you guys gave GaryJ. I didn't know him, but me heart goes out to all his family and friends.

RIP GaryJ

Solomon, that was a very beautiful sentiment. Thanks so much for being the driving force behind many of these efforts. I'm sure that Jill is extraordinarily grateful. You are a good man, sir. A damned good man.

That's beautiful, I somehow misses that quote. I would have wanted to read that Sunday. Well said.

If I had the courage to speak publicly today, this is what I was thinking I would have said.

Although I did not attend the celebration, I did wear green, ride green, and started my day with a Dr. Pepper. I miss Gary, and will miss him even more the first time I go riding in the hills on a cold rainy day.

Great time at the beach. Really, very touching, and I saw some peeps that I haven't seen in years. Thanks folks (you know who you are) for getting this done.

I barely made it there, and I barely made it home. I couldn't chance going to the BBQ. Apparently, putting Kawasaki green duct tape on your Honda Fireblade is a real no-no to the CBR gods. Darn you, Gary, you never told me about this one. :laughing See ya', buddy.

An amazing day I won't forget being part of.

Great job Jill and Doc and the others that put this together. :applause

It was an honor riding two by two with the Patriot Guard Riders. Panak was an awesome Road Captain and the whole group of folks are very cool people. Cruising through Santa Cruz with Police escort was a unique experience. The sport bike riders did themselves proud by joining in the ride to honor Gary.

13 lives in all of us who attended and many more.

My photos have been uploaded here.

Great pics, Solomon. It was good to see my friend Ann B. in those!!:wave

Your web speech....perfectly stated and many shared sentiments so:applause:applause You really are an awesome soul.

It was a wonderful send off for Gary. The Patriot guard really hit home when they said Gary IS, not WAS and will always ride among us. And a seagull soared above us listening in.:angel

Great send off, and great pics of it too. :thumbup

How wonderful to see so many of you. :) And from the postings here, there are many more I missed. (or forgot names/faces)

I cried through most of the touching ceremony and speeches... and then witnessed a tankslapper crash on 1 on our way to Jill's. Thankfully she's ok and bike is fixable.

Huge THANKS to Jill, Tiffany, Solomon, Doc, the Patriot Riders, and ALL the others behind the scenes - GREAT JOB!! :love

Patriot riders definitely added to the ceremony.
any idea how many bikes were in the ride?

Thanks everyone for showing up and for the well wishes for those who couldn't be there. The day was as amazing as it was soothing and healing. For me and I think for others it at least took some of the shock and sting out, so thanks much. There's such a void now, but well just have to over fill it. Even then there will be just some times that will be hard.

Now might be a good time to close this particular thread, end it on a good (short) note with DocWong's post. Just a thought. Sure wish I could have attended that ride. Not nearly enough photos but then I guess there never will be.

I am so sorry I missed the celebration. Thanks for those who have posted viedos and photos.

Will be making something very special for Jill, plus another similar item to sell and raise some funds for your expenses. I have been busy at the spinning wheel for the last week, getting something wonderful ready.

Jill, you are in my thoughts every day. I often feel a very warm, loving prescence while I am working, it feels like Gary's spirit.

Hugs Jill.
