Gas station dining

There is a Subway inside the Chevron station in Garden Valley that I stopped at this morning. Had them make me a sandwich to eat hours later when I was way up in the hills.

Does that count?

hope yours was better than the one i stopped at awhile back on 99 down toward Mettler (a bit south of Bakersfield, before it merges with I-5.

Got a bad case of the trots driving through Texas one time. I ate a fried catfish sandwich from a gas station/general store type place. Spent the night at a rest stop puking out the back of my van. Woke up in the morning and there was a rattle snake laying under my van a couple of feet away from my face. Made it to Tucumcari, hold up in a cheap motel for the night and ate 7-11 soup and RC cola for the rest of the day. My poor girlfriend was scared shitless leaving the motel to get supplies. Tucumcari was a very rough town back then.

The results of being young and dumb. That old Ford van burned so much oil that I had to change out the plugs every 500-1000 miles. Whoever wasn’t driving cleaned the second set of plugs for the next change out. Driving from upstate NY to S Cal for work. Gave the van away and bought my first new vehicle, a ‘82 Mazda B2000 pickup Splurged and included the optional rear bumper.
