Giants 2025

GIANTS....! ARE KILLING ME SLOWLY.

I'm laughing with you, not at you! I get it, I really do. I used to walk up to the box office at the `Stick and buy a box seat at game time in the early and mid `80's. They were awful, but I always got a good seat! The year they lost 100 games I'd swear there were about 1000 of us in the stands during the week. Probably an exaggeration, but you get the idea. It just made it feel all the better when 1986 rolled around and the "You gotta watch these Giants, you're gonna like these kids!" era rolled around. Those were some good years after that. Anyway, all that losing gave me a thick skin. I don't like it, and all that "torture" gave me gray hair, but I just think "this, too, shall pass" and we'll be good again down the road. I hope!

I spent 2 nights in Reno this past week watching the AAA Reno Aces (Arizona Diamondbacks) play the Oklahoma City Comets (LA Dodgers.) Fantastic ballpark right on the Truckee River downtown, very family-oriented, always something for the kids to do during innings, great fireworks Friday night after the game. Our camper van was parked about 150 yards from the entrance to the park, too. We were there to watch my cousin pitch for Reno but he didn't get into either game. Of course he pitched the next game after we left  I told him he needs to be a starter! His agent thinks he'll be called up to the Diamondbacks before the rosters expand in September, but I'm going again on August 26th so I kinda hope they'll hold off 😄 He was pitching in A-ball for Visalia last summer at this time, and he's the youngest player on the team right now, but who knows? I just hope he's successful wherever he goes. ⚾🏆

Good tales of the "these kids" days.

The Reno Ball game sounds really fun. Best wishes to your cousin.

Thank you!

Buster is hands-on now with the direction of the team: the trading deadline has passed and we moved some talent to acquire prospects. Goodbye Yastremski, Rogers & Doval. Next year.

The Aces put on a great show. Very cool that your cousin is playing at that level, its a dream that so many never quite get to live. My cousin was drafted in the 2nd round, 63rd overall, played 5 seasons in the minors, but never quite made it to the bigs. I hope your cousin gets his shot at the top.

Thank you, turbobrick! It is pretty incredible to think he might actually make it. Like you say, so many don’t.

I'm back on the bandwagon...

Matt Chapman Uses His Head In Giants Win

Patrick Bailey, he of the previously absurd, inside-the-park, walk-off homerun*, trots off last night's extra-inning win over the Dodgers with a superfluous grand slam. 'Won't you come home" Pat Bailey's blast came in the 10th inning, unknotting a 1-1 tie.

Ride The Bandwagon!

*(actually, it was sprint around the sacks)

That was a nail biter and an exciting finish. Still hate Manfred ("it is just a hunk of metal") Ball in extras with ghost runners.

1/2 a game back in the wild card hunt as the Pads, Mets, Reds, Dbacks and Cards all lost yesterday. I told all my friends early in the season that the Giants were making the playoffs this year. Don't fail me now, Giants!

Honestly I am surprised at their resurgence. Super cool to see it..... and beating the Dodgers and like that.. :bananan

We're headed to Aces v River Cats tomorrow, who should we be rooting for to pitch?

I’m sorry I missed this, turbobrick! I was in Oregon at a big family to-do for awhile. My cousin is Hayden Durke. His stats were pretty knockout with a WHIP below 1 before he got to AAA. I guess there’s an adjustment throwing the MLB baseball for the first time instead of the softer one the lower classes use. He was pretty funny when I talked to him after getting called up to Reno. He said “Man, I’m the youngest one here. These guys are all men! Like, married and stuff. With kids! It’s crazy!” 😄

Great game last night! This late-season resurgence for the Giants has been fun. I hope they can squeak into the playoffs and make a run for it. Stranger things have happened! Go Giants! 🧡🖤🧡

Big Time Win - Patrick Bailey sends the Blue home losers.
Riding the boat over from Vallejo the whole boat is full of dodger blue….
It’s a miserable experience when they’re on the boat and the Dodgers and the they win.
So happy for all the people that are Giants fans as they exit the stadium not having listen to Dodger BS.
Dodger fans are truly terrible hard to listen to hard to see….
That was a massive blast homer that’ll go down in history….
I can only hope Tommy Lasorda rolled over in his grave….
Go Giants you got this !!!!

Where was this team 2 months ago?!?!?! 😤

Always nice to beat the dodgers.

I like the odds. 10 games out, 0.5 games behind the Mets and 4.5 games behind the Padres. Both are playing sub-.500 ball and they'll both be lucky if they make the playoffs. With the Giants turning the corner as a team, they have momentum to land a wildcard spot.

Well a couple more games the the BLUE GOONS killed the immediate hope, but there is HOPE coming from the inside.
