I'm laughing with you, not at you! I get it, I really do. I used to walk up to the box office at the `Stick and buy a box seat at game time in the early and mid `80's. They were awful, but I always got a good seat! The year they lost 100 games I'd swear there were about 1000 of us in the stands during the week. Probably an exaggeration, but you get the idea. It just made it feel all the better when 1986 rolled around and the "You gotta watch these Giants, you're gonna like these kids!" era rolled around. Those were some good years after that. Anyway, all that losing gave me a thick skin. I don't like it, and all that "torture" gave me gray hair, but I just think "this, too, shall pass" and we'll be good again down the road. I hope!
I spent 2 nights in Reno this past week watching the AAA Reno Aces (Arizona Diamondbacks) play the Oklahoma City Comets (LA Dodgers.) Fantastic ballpark right on the Truckee River downtown, very family-oriented, always something for the kids to do during innings, great fireworks Friday night after the game. Our camper van was parked about 150 yards from the entrance to the park, too. We were there to watch my cousin pitch for Reno but he didn't get into either game. Of course he pitched the next game after we left

I told him he needs to be a starter! His agent thinks he'll be called up to the Diamondbacks before the rosters expand in September, but I'm going again on August 26th so I kinda hope they'll hold off

He was pitching in A-ball for Visalia last summer at this time, and he's the youngest player on the team right now, but who knows? I just hope he's successful wherever he goes.
