GoPro HD Hero2

Deciding whether I should upgrade or not... I'll wait to see what people say about them.

Curious, are you going to use it for the Warrior Dash on Sunday? That's what I'm going to use my wrist mount for.

You can pick it up at Best Buy, that's where I got mine.

Warrior dash is for pansies.. I did tough mudder last month :teeth

Im moving to Brazil on sunday. Using the gopro for surfing / hookers & blow / shenanigans

Don't know if this is been posted yet but it looks interesting for my original hero.

Taken from the GP site:

The original HD HERO is also compatible with the Wi-Fi BacPac and Wi-Fi Remote with support for remote control functions only. Video streaming is not available on the original HD HERO camera.

That remote would be way helpful in the racecar, always wish it could do that. I am still happy with my original, great toy for sure!

I would say it's a nice upgrade. Low light videos (indoor) has improved dramatically. The status beeps are also a lot louder and adjustable. The menu system is no longer cryptic, and usability went up a notch.

The only negatives is I wish they included a mini HDMI cable, but no big deal.

Here's an unedited straight from the camera still shot in handheld and low light. Note that this version greatly improves on the chromatic aberration (which I feel is the Achilles heel on the previous Hero)

Where are you all purchasing yours from?

I bought mine at Best Buy. They don't have the motorsport kit--so I had to get the headmount kit, but since I already have another GoPro Hero Motorsport kit, it was no big deal.

If you look closely, you'll see the lens elements is completely re-designed and it looks like some sort of internal hood (used to adjust wide view?) very clever.

Not if you do it as a RACE. Tough mudder is cool, but you're allowed to skip obstacles if you really wanted and you have all the time in the world to get through it.

Anywho, either event are fun to do with friends. :thumbup

My lady used her wrist housing in Belize for snorkeling. The vids came out amazing. You'll enjoy it.

Got mine... Gopro makes me look fat :(

PS I have amazon prime so if anyone wants free 2-day ship or $3.99/item next day you can get your cam tomorrow!!!

It is viewed on you tv at 30fps It is never anything other.

Unless your TV is hooked up to your computer OR it plays the raw files (LG FTW) then you can see a difference between 30 and 60. :thumbup

On another note. I doubt the Wifi streaming will be in HD BUT if its anything better then the Contour Bluetooth implementation that would be really nice. If you do require HD you can always get a Teradek cube.

Also the remote is a great feature. Looking forward to trying one out.

P.S. with a new faster processor I'd love to see GoPro automatically assemble time-lapse pictures into a movie. (similar to the new Samsung camcorder feature)

I can't even get my computer to effectively and consistently create a timelapse in QuickTime using 11mp photos... :2cents and im on a beefed up mac pro tower running 2 ATI 5770s & 32GB of RAM... I literally have to shut everything down and do NOTHING while it processes.

I think you are trying to say... unless your TV can play a RAW file whether it be direct from computer or direct from SD card... you can't tell the difference between 30 and 60
:dunno

Yes the English, it puzzles me.

Still look into those samsung camcorders, my guess is they don't use 11mp photos but rather just shoot video at Frames Per Minute (1080 30fpM or something). The cool factor is that you can have a video as soon as you are done shooting without having to render ANYTHING. Seriously read up on it and you'll love the ease of use of those systems.

I'm guessing there's no setting to take lower resolution photos, huh?
Best solution would be to batch edit them to shrink them down to the size you want so you aren't telling your computer to figure out how to deal with thousands of 11mp pix, eh?

i been using my iphone 4s to take video... i think its just as good and much more portable compared to my gopro hd wide
