Lol. So, there is no way I'm plowing through 43 pages/hundreds of posts... can someone please give me the Cliff notes as to how this got from the stupid $65 registration highway robbery- whoops, I mean tax- to daylight savings time?
I mean, I know this is BARF, and maybe I'm a little rusty, but I can't for the life of me figure out how it got from A to... what, Q? :laughing
and what bugs me is that the amount isn't $65 for anyone, and it isn't motorcycle specific :nchantr

I chose to leave this because it still has good moto content.

Others did not.

If you don’t like it and other complainers don’t either tough shit :twofinger

Feeling spunky and tired of taking shit for doing what I feel is best for barf and the motorcycle community at large. Show me how you stepped up for the community and then your voice will have more of an impact on me.

BTW. Not a single reported post.

Spunky is right! Certainly not a dig at you or any of the other mods, but I suppose I can see how it could have been interpreted that way.

Throw some Bailey's in that third cup'a'Joe, Bud! It's Friday :thumbup

Lol... I may have been off teh BARFs, but even I know better than to go into the political forums!!! That's just insanity... :x

On the upside, having it in a sub-forum keeps it contained... sort of like biohazard materials... :laughing

Hey, Connie, we've missed you. :party

I just finished going through the posts for the last month - didn't see the point in going further back. Lots of complaining about all sorts of things in California, especially the taxes. Quite a bit about moving to other states or why it's worse in [name any other state].

As someone who moved away six months ago after 30 years, I can say that I'm liking where I am now, other than the freezing cold weather that's going to keep me from riding for most of four months. I took both bikes for a short spin on Monday, but might not touch either of them again for a month or two. For a while there I claimed that I didn't miss California at all, but I have to qualify it now that I miss the weather, but nothing else. And cost of living is definitely lower here in many, many ways. But the number one thing I like better where I am now is the lack of crowds. Moving to Folsom for five years just made it that much more obvious how crowded the Bay Area is once I moved back to Pleasanton.

So when I read about all of the weird stuff and additional costs happening in California, I just shake my head, throw up my hands, and say "hey, I'm glad I left." :cool

Awww thanks! :)
So where did you end up moving to?

I guess if you have both signatures and "Location:" turned off you can't see it. Meridian Idaho. Lots more dirt riding opportunities and I had finally reached the point where I could get out twice a week to go exploring. I've tried documenting it in the photos on location thread, starting end of June. Yet another really long thread you might not want to dig through.

Its pretty toxic in there, so ive decided to just leave the monkeys in their cage.
Too much poop flinging in there.

Correct Holeshot. Lots of Parisians in that room.

Politics these days is toxic. Making it private was my call only. I am happy with that decision. If you like Politics then join. Discuss and hold on to your ass.

It's a hot bucket, for sure. It's about the worst place for actual discussion on BARF if you're not one with a majority opinion of which, we took a poll and know the political layout of posters in there.

When Bud's getting lit up for his posts in there, you know things are bit...apocalyptic, so to speak.

I disagree about the PF being toxic. Yeah, there's acrimony but there's a lot of good discussion. Funny that the only ones who complain about it are the conservative types. Freaking snowflakes :twofinger

:laughing

Lol... my only excuse is that yesterday was a bad day, and I had to take pain meds for the first time in a couple of weeks... :facepalm
Idaho is beautiful, a friend of mine lived there for a few years, in Nampa. I used to visit for Thanksgiving. Bitter cold there!

I took a road trip up there back in june with a friend who had a friend that moved to meridian. He was originally from there but had lived in LA for 15+ years. He said Meridian is apparently one of the fastest growing towns up there, I'm guessing mostly people moving in to work in Boise.

I liked the roads up there, drivers are mostly polite and while I didn't split I never felt the need to. Also really liked the people, although I kept on coming up with different ways to skirt the question of where I'm from. :nchantr

Hopefully it doesn't change too much, I'd like to escape up there some day.

Not sure I would want to move somewhere where I have to evade a question of where I am from.

A lot of people around here warned me not to say I came from California, but I've only seen one person who seemed to be actively against "us". He had the big "Don't Californicate Idaho" sticker on his truck. I wanted to talk to him about it, but he drove off before I could get over there. :laughing

I live on a street where nearly everybody moved in during the past year. There are more people from other states on this street than from Idaho. We all get along. And just about everyone I've met in this entire valley is friendly, even knowing that I spent 30 years in California.

As Scott said it was never really an issue, I only had one person change their attitude after I said I was from California. Most people wanted to know more details about my trip and where I was heading. They were probably just making conversation but after all the articles about negative attitudes towards transplants in Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, etc. I was most likely over thinking it.
