Green light trigger

Mounted mine right next to the deer whistle.

On the beer fridge in the garage.

I've seen these in magazines before but I'm skeptical that it actually works. Anyone have one I can witness first hand?

The theory is sound. I can attest to this because I have a midterm today dealing with electromagnetic induction. :cry The only real concern I have is it interfering with the vehicle electronics, but if it's mounted on the bottom of the frame, it probably won't, if it would at all.

I'll just wait until it's clear and go.

That's what I do. Figure it is a free pass. If the state is going to charge me all those fees and taxes for my bike it is up to them to make the damn signals work:mad

btw, who is that in your avator.....pretty sure she wants me:laughing

Theory is fine, whether it works is something else. I'm probably the only person on the board who has installed and calibrated one :rofl

i bought one last year, and it did not work... it worked when a car parked behind or next to me.

CVC 21800 (d) FTW!!

The driver of any vehicle approaching an intersection which has official traffic control signals that are inoperative shall stop at the intersection, and may proceed with caution when it is safe to do so.

Any signal that has a trigger, and won't recognize your legally registered vehicle, may be considered 'inoperative'.

Good stuff........Thank you!:thumbup

Will print and keep w/ my "awards" file.

One night I had reached my usual stoplight to turn left onto my street. My light is always quick to change when my motorcycle approaches. Howevewr, a police officer coming from the opposite direction saw me as I sat at the light, he slowed down and stopped in the lane(AS TRAFFIC WAS PASSING HIM), he got on his PA system and inaudibly -which I gathered the important words of...turn...no light...down street...ok .....he basically told me to proceed with caution. which, yes, I always do if a light does not change...but putting the kickstand down...heh...I didn't know that helped. wahooooo

When I took my Police Motor course, they told us that after a certain year (don't ask me to remember when) all Public Works departments are required to install vehicle sensing cameras on newly installed traffic lights instead of the old sensors in the ground. For what it's worth, Pleasanton/Dublin have plenty of these new traffic signals already installed and they work fantastically.

+1 Detector loops are pretty obsolete. IN oakland we use video detection systems. Pretty cool, you can use it for things like traffic monitoring and not just detecting cars at intersections.

Traffic monitoring as far as what? Anything more than just volume of traffic?

I'm always interested in what Oakland is doing... the shot spotter stuff is pretty interesting.

You know the solution is really quite simple. My VTX always triggers green lights. :laughing You all are riding the wrong kind of bike. :twofinger
