Guy Crashes Brand New Ducati Crossing DY on the Snake (Mulholland)

He hit the reflector. I did that once while leaned over (but coming from the correct lane) and almost lost the front. Never again.

Those photographers witness countless acts of bad driving, including but not limited to people crossing the DY at that turn and nearly smacking into oncoming traffic. I think they have earned the right to be a little bit pedantic. :x

They wouldn't have said something if he was wobbling all over his lane and not the opposing lane. What happens when someone else showing off comes down the opposing lane or Jay Leno is driving back the other way in his 9000 # Blastolene Special.

yeah, dude needed to have his chops busted at least a little for doing someting that dumb and then crashing while doing something that dumb!
 
:025-looks like he was passing a couple of cruisers in turns right before the crash. Probably was way over the DY there as well. I bet the 2 cruiser folks had a great laugh when they came around the bend and saw ol boy scrubbed out over in the gravei....I woulda:thumbup
 
Oh, but passing on a DY is mega safe....when the conditions are safe...still illegal, I mean, it's only a suggestion, right?!

Do they not make sliders for duc's? Thats one of the first things i usually get for my bike. He looks like a new rider. His positioning on the bike when he took the turn looked like he was fighting it or not comfortable on his bike. Maybe putting weight on those front handle bars? The DY is probably the reason why he lowsided.
 
i was down there a couple weeks ago when i went to pick up my new KTM. there is nothing spectacular about that corner. we have dozens more 'pucker'/ decreasing radius/ blind corners in the SC hills than those in the mulholland area. i would have to say that ego and lack of ability causes most of the incidents at that spot.

Let's just reduce that to "lack of ability"...The riders that do have ability, have no problem.
