Help - How has dating changed in the last 20 years?

Melissa, I know you.. You aren't an idiot. Are you trolling BARF? :laughing

Honest question!!! I need all the help I can get. I've been out of this game a long time :afm199

There has been some amazingly good insight here in the past.

Definitely both :teeth

I've already been on one date with a guy 10 years younger than me. We'll see if that goes anywhere.

Don't rule it out. It can work. My wife is 15 years older than me. We married earlier this year. Our first date was over 10 years ago and through match.com.

haha. Melissa, it's the same as always here, just a different generation.

My understanding is the online meat market is full of lying creeps. I suggest finding activities to join. Especially competitive activities. You never really know someone very well until you've seen how they react to stress. Worst case you'll have some fun. :)

Another option is enlisting your friends in the search. I met my current wife of 22 years through a date arranged that way. A co-worker's wife was her co-worker.

Congratulations. Thank you for the encouragement. I am not ruling it out but he might be :nchantr

Anal is considered "second base" now

:rofl (Thank you for making me laugh - it's been a rough few days and I needed that).

So much is done via messaging now. It doesn't quite seem the same. Maybe it seems different because I am an adult now with commitments.

Knowing it's Austin, probably some vegans too. Pretty scary stuff !!

I've yet to meet a male vegan in Austin, but I am sure they are out there. My ex-husband managed to find a female vegan as his latest partner.

I am not sure I could deal with a vegan eater since I am chef and love meat.

I'd date a vegetarian but not a vegan

For me cooking and eating are important and I don't think I'd enjoy the experience witha vegan

My wife and I have been together 25+ years, so I don't know what's changed and what hasn't. But one thing is for sure...just whip up a batch of your shakshouka and they'll beat a path to your door.:thumbup

Find some activities that you like.
I picked up salsa dancing and met quite a few women that way.
It's much better to meet people who have shared interests from the start.

Thank you.

Your cassoulet looked amazing :thumbup

This is probably the truest statement I've read about dating suggestions.

Also, dating a younger male is not a bad idea. My partner is 8 years older than I and we have a terrific relationship and after the first few weeks making old people jokes it's something we never think about or put weight on.

Online dating:

"Hi how are you?"
"I'm good thanks, how are you?"
"Good, how was your day?"
"It was good, how was your day?"
"Good"
............

Plus making up a list of hobbies and interests you don't really have, and books you haven't actually read, in order to seem interesting and well-rounded.
