Put on a crash cage and swapped out secondary butterflies. I love the engineering choices KTM make...

what does the secondary butterfly valve upgrade accomplishes?

On this particular FI setup it smoothes out small throttle opening jerkiness. You know how the story goes... modern bike, a lot power, great torque, but shitty lean fueling in the lower ranges of the torque curve.

I'm plenty slow in corners as is, sudden torque to the rear wheel is the last thing I need at the moment. :thumbdown

I was going to cry into my coffee mug this morning, but I forgot. Now that you've posted more pictures I don't have to!

Nice bike, it looks like Moving Violations

I love it when there is a happy ending! Especially on the Internette! :thumbup

That bike screams to be exercised on two different roads I ride, No moving violations found there...
But I don't want to broadcast on the internet, these roads..We all know what happened at a place in Tenn.
that is now called The Tail of The Dragon.

This bike gets plenty exercise! I'm slow in corners, I'll admit, but this will see lots of track time. And you know, theres that other kind of exercise that you can only do on a motard. Yeah, that one, it gets plenty of it :laughing

Very purdy.

Wish KTM would bring the 690SMC R to the US. Orange wheels!

Trust, me too. I would support their R&D by putting money down on the new one. But NOPE! Need more litre bikes and Harleys! Uhmericuh!

i think i saw u one time, a few weeks back

right where the Fell St ends, by Golden Gate park, there is a Police Station and i think thats where i saw u

so... how did the secondary butterflies work out? All smoooooth now? Inquiring minds want to know!

I think it's back to where a modern v-twins should be at. Torquey but not absolutely mental with the slightest throttle opening. Definitely better. By how much? Hard to say.

I might have to try the butterfly thing with my bike. I hate the low speed throttle harshness.

Duh, you ride a 990, don't you? :thumbup

Butterflies run $30, another thing people say works reasonably well is the G2 400cam throttle tamer. I plan on tracking this thing, so might end up doing that as well.
