Tell 'em you're with Barf otherwise you won't get one of our reserved rooms and you'll get a 5% discount if we fill all 15 rooms.
They're holding the rooms until 6/12.
Book your room soon as summer gets pretty busy in Kernville.

Overflow motel is:

It would be great if someone got a room at the Riverview so we can use their firepit on the river. Really cool place to hang out and excercise our penchant for shenanigans.

Further details will be on the secret thread that will be started at some future date. The password for the thread will be sent to you when you register on Eventbrite. Links to both will be posted here when they are set up.

:thumbup

guess the Kernville Inn is still the non-overflow motel, with this year’s main group of reserved rooms?:

We have rooms reserved at the Kernville Inn.

They'll hold the rooms for a few weeks.

will try to call Kernville Inn and make my reservation, at least, today. :ride

Private forum is a go for those that have.

And just like THAT.......I'm OUT. My mother's health is such that I need to stay close to town. Life has changed........Ride safe and tip 3 or 4 for me.

Sorry to hear it.. you are doing the right thing Russ.

I have reviewed the heat wave status and it will be brutally hot to get to Kernville and even landing there provides little relief.
Currently Friday the 12th said:
* 105 in Parkfield (may not be quite 105 at lunch but hot)
* 111 in Bakersfield as we roll through.
* 105 in Kernville (close to it when we land).

So we are seeking a cooler alternate (coastal).

A head up for anyone thinking onf joinging at the last minute.

Having ridden through 104 to 114 it is no piece of cake. Doable with a cooling vest and a lot of water breaks, but we found relief when we got to Fort Bragg and the amount of time in the intense heat was about 3.5 hours. This ride will be longer.. figuring up to 6 hours in brutal heat and no real relief at the end until early evening and then repeat the next couple days.

We had one rider need emergency medical attention on the ride mentioned above and I am no spring chicken so I am worried a bit about me. :p

You can of course still go and there are rooms opening up. Bummed.

Good Call to re-locate. Bummer it may be at the expense of attendance.

If youre going coastal check out Cayucos, CA. It's a sleepy little beach town in the shadow of Hearst Castle. Relatively compact footprint from lodging to food and drink. Decent taco shack, oddball locals, y'know.. that kind of place BARF gravitates to.

Cayucos is great!!!.... but limited hotel accomodations. Already looked.
However.. the Caycucos Card Room and Tavern is open again. That place is awesome.
