Suspected motorcycle thieves arrested

Two men suspected of motorcycle theft were arrested by Truckee Police officers on Saturday after the men evaded the California Highway Patrol during a high-speed pursuit on Highway 89 south.
Anthony Ford, 26 of Roseville, and Christopher White, 29 of Foresthill, were taken into custody at approximately 3:45 p.m. after CHP officers notified Truckee police of the suspects’ direction. A Truckee police officer subsequently spotted two males walking down a private driveway just south of the mousehole, according to police reports.
When the men saw the patrol car, they began tossing items into the trees, police said. Officers detained both males without incident. At the end of the private driveway in a utility shed officers found both motorcycles, which were reported stolen from the Sacramento area.
Ford and White were each charged on suspicion of reckless driving, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, possession of stolen vehicles, operating with a suspended license and conspiracy. White was also charged with violation of parole, and both men and the investigation were turned over to the CHP.
