Let's talk about shaving....

Anyone that thinks gilette style multi blades is better than a saftey razor is doing something wrong

Ordered these via Amazon early last week.

Okay. Got them last Friday. Used it for the last three mornings. It works decently. Not as good as the Gillette Fusion Proglide I was previously using. I do like that flex ball thing, but I can live without it if it means saving a ton of money.

Even my wife gave it a shot on her legs and like it. She always used men's razors because, to her, women's razors have always sucked.

Honestly, for the price, I think they work well.

$24 for a 6 count refill of the Gillette Fusion Proglide

vs

$25 of Dorco 12 count refill

I'm going with the Dorco's for now on.

If you didn't know, Dorco is where Dollar Shave club gets their razors from.

You straight edge users are too manly for me. :laughing

How smooth are your bawls now?

I gave up on cartridge razors a while back when looking at how much I was shelling out. Love the close shave that a Gillette Power razor provides, but that cost! Thought about Dollar Club, safety razors, etc., but finally just moved to an electric. Still happy. :thumbup

I only use the 5 blades and used to replace them every week. Then I read someone here mentioned using a single one for a year or more so I tried stretching it to a month. After a month it still worked fine which basically cut my cost down to 1/4.

i have the OPs problem of no beard syndrome, without the try hard part though:laughing can't grow a goatee, have to grow the stache out at the ends to make it look like it connects, and that takes MONTHS...Norelco 3 head electric FTW!!! it has a beard trimmer that is great for when i forget to shave for weeks at a time:laughing

Remember that time on Cheers when they had the beard growing contest? Yep, that's me. I shave daily, leave the goatee for every monday. And I man-scape. I have to or the shit will dreadlock. Smell it!

I want to try a safety razor, but I's scurred.

I just switched. Really liking it. Starting to figure out which blades I like.

Please tell me where you get your soap. Haven't been able to find stuff I 'really' like. Only stuff that works.

I've been using this stuff. It's not bad but none of the scents are super amazing. I'm going to try some sandalwood soap next.

I have been using this stuff even before I switched to a safety razor. Lasts a long long time.

Post shave is really dependent on your skin. I like using an alum block to tighten it all up before putting on a post shave gel. I only shave 2-3 times a week anyway...

Totally forgot about the wet shave thread, need to dig in there a little.

I want to try a safety razor, but I's scurred.

Just use it on the lowest setting to get a feel for it. Then open the blade up. Technically you open the blade to cut your beard when it's thick, and you close the blade to get a close shave. I use no shaving cream or after shave and only cut myself a few times when first learning to use a safety razor.

Oh neat, I had no idea they were adjustable in that way. Suppose I should dive into the wet shave thread...
