List of plateable dirt bikes in Ca?

I think OF4i already stated it. Extreme Enduro usually equates to a light weight 2T and not very plateable.

For a legally plated 2T enduro you will have to go vintage like '70s vintage and some of those things are quite a handful.

I'd say if you're looking to do District 36 X-country kind of stuff shell out the $$$ get the Beta390. It's a 4T with a lt of 2T feel to it.

If you're looking for super low price, plated, extreme endure, AND able to ride without a complete rebuild I'd say post on CL M4W and find the 75 year old widow that still has her husband's widow maker in the garage.

The bike you want does not exist at your price point.

The bike you want will eat parts you do not expect to get eaten.

The better a bike is in the dirt the worse it is on the street.

Welcome to a sunny day snowflake.

I'm looking to get into extreme enduro and I've been reading on forums, that its possible to plate a dirt bike if,
The dirt bike has a EPA Emission Sticker That doesn't specify the dirt bike being for Off use Road Only

And

The 8th number on the vin isn't an E or C I believe, I''ll edit if incorrect.

Plus, all the lighting equipment of course.

Now, since I don't know of a website that has all the information for dirt bikes with on road emission stickers and a good vin and nobody ever really mentions the dirt bikes they plated or even any real specific info but the same ol', You need Emissions sticker and vin info.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any dirt bike models that have successfully been plated without any hassle in california, as I would like plate one and would like an unrevokable license plate :D as well.

Maybe I could even find a cheap one on CL and convert it to better fit my riding needs.

Craigslist --> for sale --> motorcycles --> search: plated

FWIW, this year I also wanted to start learning dirty bikes and also wanted something street legal. Similarly I was having some problems finding bikes pitched at being beginner-friendly. So once again I somehow found myself in a position where the only solution left to me in life was a to buy an Italian motorcycle.

Beta 125 RR-S: $5k brand new, street legal, light weight, full-size, not enough horsepower to get in any kind of trouble. Totally happy with it -- that rare bike purchase where it's been exactly what I was looking for.

I was lusting after one of those. Didn't even think about it for this thread.
Go right now and see Dan over at MotoXotica in Vacaville!
Mo Beta!

Anything is possible in Vermont.

I love it when you talk dirty

Not to thread jack, but I am brand new to motorcycles and want to get into grand prix roadracing. Would you guys recommend I start on a Desmosedici GP 2017 or the Honda RC212V? I don't want to mess with the Moto 3 or Moto 2 bikes, as I don't think I'd enjoy them as much. Thanks in advance for your help.

Generally speaking, a bike that can comfortably jump logs isn't going to comfortably be ridden to the place where you can jump logs, unless said log is in your backyard.

I put my log in the front yard. Damn gate is too narrow to ride through! :thumbup :laughing Yes I really do have a log in my front yard for practice. :laughing

The GP17 has come a long way, but the RC212V with it's power displacement and non-spec ecu MIGHT be easier to ride.

Are you planning on racing in GP or just track days/local racing club?

Actually I think he's gonna commute on it too.

I was taling to Dan and he said he's sold a bunch of them, none of them have required any warranty work. Beta USA is in Paso Robles so if there is an issue, resolution is close,

Then the one that has brackets for cases and a top-box would be your best bet.

I know someone who worked there (I looked it up and I guess he doesn't anymore).

$5k is awfully tempting.

It's a sweet little enduro machine

Wow, that's damned affordable for a brand new, street legal dirt-ish bike! Seems ideal for a beginner, esp with that relatively low seat height.

Geez guys, don't squash his dreams!

Seriously, the RMX is DA Bike for this guy. Did you guys even look at the link?

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/mcy/d/suzuki-rmx-250-plated-2-stroke/6249566169.html

Street legal, 2 stroke, $2650, looks super clean. He could go on trail rides, do some hard enduro stuff, ride around on the street a bit. Light weight, a very reliable bike. Great price.

OP, go buy this RMX and go for your dreams! :)

[and disclaimer, I have no idea who owns this RMX, just ran across it while searching for plated 2 strokes]
