McRib is returning!

ABC store is for the tourists in Waikiki.

We had one in our hotel when we took my grand daughter there to get her set up for college.
Kept us stocked up on Patron and snacks!
The 7-11 spam musubi was delish!

Finally had my first mcrib of the season. Don't know that I'll have another. I'm a little disappointed, I wanted to be deeper on this hype train, and I support everyone else's love of it.
 
To be 100% fair, nostalgia is why I love the McRib so much. I'm perfectly aware that it's not a high-end offering. But the kid in me simply does not care. The McRib scratches an itch that started in childhood.
 
What's another really good thing to make with spam besides misubi?

So, some cubed and grilled SPAM is EXCELLENT in Ramen, really good in there with some green onions, kimchi, mushrooms and a fried egg on top dressed with sriracha.

Another great way to do it is mac and cheese. Go, Kraft, go a step up with Annie's, go full gourmet and make it from elbow macaroni and a cheesey alfredo sauce from scratch, but adding a handful of cubed grilled SPAM to your mac will put it over the top. If you really want to go CRAZY, put it in a casserole dish and bake it with a breadcrumb crust on top. Dry bag bread stuffing from Pepperidge Farms works brilliantly for this. get a little butter on top of the stuffing to help with browning the crust and that is insane tasty.

Similarly, using full sized slices, grilled and then placed inside of a grilled cheese sandwich is amazing. If it suits your taste, some kimchee in here really ads something nice, but if you prefer more western pickling, sauerkraut or some dill pickles can also add some nice tang to it. I recommend you spread a nice stone ground mustard on a good rye bread to do this.

Really the thing about SPAM is, it just represents an absurdly easy to work with processed pork product, so it kind of stands in line with pork sausage and bacon as just another alternate to introduce some flavorful pig to your dish.

My friend put a fried egg on one of his (which I think is gross), but I need to find a way to get some bacon on there.

Yep! I had one a couple weeks ago and been daydreaming of my first McRob but too lazy to search for that motivational photo. At least I’ve got some SPAM ideas.
