McRib is returning!

Yep. It honestly doesn't even have to be a "nice car". There's nothing wrong with wanting to keep your dining to where it belongs. A vehicle is not a dining area same as your bedroom should only be for sleep and relations.

"Dining."

I think the disconnect is that you consider McDonald's to be, "food." :laughing

No one who eats 30+ McRibs in a month should be allowed to state that Sonic's food is trash. The fuck is wrong with you, Rob? :rofl

Cherry limeades, popcorn chicken and cheese sticks FTMFW. :twofinger

I ain’t to 30. Yet. Though that number has been achieved in past returns of this magical sammich.

Sonic is good road food. If you have to eat and drive you have to. Corn dogs, mozzarella sticks, and all that is definitely car friendly. As stated a few posts up, a big sloppy cheeseburger is not.

That said, the quality of Sonic’s food is probably on par with the shit I can microwave from the frozen food aisle at the store. A far cry from the glorious McRib.

The best fast food burger I ever had was at Carl Jr's in Corning. Just a huge hamburger on a butter bun with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. It was so big I couldn't even finish my onion rings.

Mad

Dude, I am so far from too proud to eat McD's and I totally own it and ENJOY IT, but I won't touch that stank ass food from Sonic. I would rather eat at the Gas Station. That fucking Corn dog isn't even beef, it is turkey.

It provides nutrients and my stomach isn't empty after eating it. Sounds like food to me. :twofinger

Glorious McRib... :rofl

I love them too, but I'm willing to accept what they really are...crap that tastes good. :laughing

For me, it's Five Guys. In N' Out is good, but it's so small and the lack of toppings...I'd rather just have an animal style fries.

Who the hell gets a hot dog at Sonic?! :dunno

The McRib is a nice BBQ sauce (I like the sauce) with a protein patty.

The texture of the patty is Good Enough. It's a meaty thing, that bites well.

I agree with the others who said it's kind of floppy, it is.

The last one I had (which I DID eat in the car) was super saucy. Of course it was super saucy, I was eating in the car. Definite potential for disaster, but all turned out well. Unfortunately, McDs doesn't had out Wet Naps with their McRibs.

My wife enjoys the sauce on the french fries.

When McD switched to the "Fresh" Quarter Pounder, I found them unsatisfying. I don't know why, but they just flat don't taste as good as they did before. A hot off the grill Quarter Pounder was pretty good, now that they're fresh, not so much. I occasionally get them, but it just reinforces "not the same, can't go back".

I think they don't cook as well fresh. I think frozen, they got a bit more heavy grilling as they thawed, which made them taste better.

C'est la vie.

RobSJ? That's why he brought it up? What else do they do there? Like all I ever tried there when we used to have one in Santa Rosa was corndogs and Chilidogs.

The only time I will ever get Sonic is if I’m headed South on I-5. The only Sonic I know of is strategically placed just as you’re leaving Gilroy. Grab some mozzarella sticks, a corn dog, and a barrel of soda then try not to head on with anyone on Pacheco Pass on the way to the boring drive.

That Sonic is a regular stop for me on the drives south, too. However, it's always a Route 44 cherry limeade, cheese sticks and popcorn chicken. If I'm hungry enough though, I'll get a chicken club toaster. I honestly don't think I've ever had a burger from Sonic. There's just way too many other better places to get a burger that I already love.

I like the “fresh” 1/4 pounder. Much better IMO mostly because it’s usually nice and hot.

When I was a little kid they had one in Santa Rosa we would go to and I thought it was exciting, because they had cute high school girls that would bring you your food in the drive in spots on roller skates, which was very exciting when i was like 10, but even as a kid that age I felt like the food ingredients were just cheap and not very good.

I though maybe it was just me at first but the Sonics in Colorado serve better tasting burgers than the ones in California. It wasn't until a buddy from California came to visit and I asked him after the fact that he agreed that Colorado Sonics have better tasting burgers. Since I moved back to California I have not had a satisfying Sonic burger, just not the same. Do not know why.....

Could be the food distributor they're using. I'll bet they don't run like In N' Out does where they're using their own in-house distribution system so that quality and product are the same at every location.

That was why they had a tough time moving outside the state initially. Now they're out in Texas. I believe they're using different beef now even though it's still in house. Only so much you can do when it has to be fresh vs frozen.

But you're most likely right. I wonder Sonic in Colorado was getting their beef from.

Agree with anyone else who said Sonic is gross. Nothing there is good. Even by fast food standards.

Taste shaming in a thread dedicated to the McRib is fucking hilarious. :rofl

We all have trash food that we cherish.

hahahz. Fair point.

Also, I never did eat that 2nd McRib I got the other day.

Sorry guys. :( Specifically Rob. :p
