Melinda Moore has been found.

What crappy news. I'm at a loss for words but it was really cool to see how everyone came together and looked for her. If I were to go down, I'd appreciate such a gathering of people cared enough to go out looking for me. Don't know what else to say. Be careful out there - even experienced riders can go down.

:( thoughts and prayers to her friends and loved ones.

My heart is warmed with everyones support.

Keep sending Melinda's fiancee Mark and her family and friends your love and prayers.

We tried to find you Melinda. When we heard we moved swiftly, I hope this helps your soul and fills it with love, compassion, and clarity. May your journey be calm and welcoming.

For those that don't know HWY1 north of the Russian River...It's a road with many corners with no guard rail with 1000 ft drops and often locked in with fog. We know it was not really searchable by road, so for those who searched it by road, it was basically a "grasp at a straw", don't kick your selves or even try to second guess your selves. It really needed to be searched by air. I even rode it and looked, but their was no way to do it but hike all 50 miles. We focused on the roads that yeilded the best chance to find her by doing a road search. We actually did a great job at searching! We learned a lot, and if this happens agian, we as sport riders are better prepaired to search.

Let's start a new rule, after "crossing the double yellow means you died". We should call it the Melinda rule, "if you ride alone, leave a note about the area your gonna ride".

Mark

Melinda is one of those larger-than-life people that you only seem to meet in the motorcycling community. I doubt that anybody who ever met her will ever forget her and I doubt anyone who met her ever confused her with anyone else. The invitation for her 40th birthday party had a picture of her sitting on a bike with a box of Depend adult diapers strapped to the passenger seat, and she was laughing her ass off. Last time I talked to her was at the True Value hardware store in Santa Rosa, she was walking through the aisles in her 2-piece Alpinestars suit and I remember thinking that this is the only person I know who could look completely at home walking through a small hardware store in full leathers with a little plastic shopping basket draped over her arm.

I'm going to go cry some more and listen to Richard Thomson's "1952 Vincent Black Lightning", just to hear the line:

"I've seen you on the corners and cafes, it seems
Red hair and black leather, my favorite color scheme."

Godspeed, Big Red. We all miss you.

I didn't know her, but like so many others I helped look for her, and I'm stuck on a double edged sword, finally knowing where she is but finding out my worst fear. Yes I cried.:rose

My condolences to everyone who will be touched by her loss. My girlfriend's name is also Melinda, and I know that if I ever lost her, I would be devistated.

GODSPEED :rose
